Picked the game up years ago, I liked it, but was always busy and had planned on coming back to begin playing it further. I now have 0 interest on playing this game ever, after the developer horrifically graphically downgraded the game. Disliked, Unfavorited, Unsubscribed, and I will NOT be sharing with my friends.
...game? What game. The thing breaks and lags constantly, and I can't even get it to launch in some cases. It's unfinished, clearly NOT a passion project whatsoever, and a prime example of a game that shouldn't be allowed to charge money. Be ready to rely on the steam refund policy. At least a game like Cube World was clearly a personal passion project, and is a COMPLETED GAME. This... This isn't even a functional alpha. I'm a kickstarter backer- which means I'm a chump that got played. (I was an idiot kid back then, gave $100 cause I thought i'd be nice to help someone build a vision) Apparently the developer faced a very, very hard time while developing this game... But I don't really have any pity whatsoever considering all the money he took, and how easily he swindled ignorant or naive people with zero remorse. Doesn't even have the damn courtesy to put this game out or free and release the codes for modders to make an actually functioning game in their spare time. Crazy to think that this man received at least $100K+ in donations for this game, yet couldn't even make something functional after several years of work. It's an insanely difficult challenge to create a ridiculously ambitious game like this- which is why it's so disappointing that many of us idiots have to suffer because another idiot wasn't self-aware enough when taking on this project.
Scam. Took money and ran!
This is not the game i bought long ago! This is crap!
A partially completed game that is barely playable at best. More of a walking simulator than a game.
They are still selling this crap? If I didn't get in a humble bundle tucked in with some actually good games I would be mad.
This, this right here is why you shouldn't order in alpha. you put your trust in a company and they offer this pile of ♥♥♥♥♥. i honestly wish a refund was possible as this is not at all the game that it was supposed to be
I've had this in my library for years and played it for the first time today. I didn't kickstart it so I'm not as salty as many reviewers. Yes the default controls are hideous, but they can be changed. However, what can't be changed is that you need to go through a menu process to open doors. Every door. Every single time. You can't just click on a door and it opens. No. You click on a door, pop up a menu and then have to click 'open door'. It's not just opening doors. You have to go through this process for every action because the UI is execrable. Imagine an Elder Scrolls game where everything you did took an extra unnecessary 10-20 seconds. No one's got time for that. It's a shame because in the five minutes I spent with the game before deciding I wasn't going to waste my life in menus for opening doors. I did see a couple of interesting ideas that might have been worth using in better games.
Kickstarted this. As per usual, dont bother kickstarting anything. So many promises mad, virtual none kept, besides that yes,it is a game. Can i play it? Well, sort of... Linux support was part of the kickstarter to begin with. It got thrown out really fast, so my whole reason for backing was gone before we could touch it. Just disappointment all around sadly.
The earlier version was better in my opinion only because you could set fire to furniture.
