welcome to frugatto, we got - gorgeous pixel art - good music that goes on for longer than you'd expect - witty writing - varied levels and areas - [i]tongue extension pills[/i] - the frug Nostalgia bias aside, this game is great. I played some earlier versions years ago and there's so much new content and polish in this release.

Platformer that can hold its own against the classics that it pays homage to. Despite the fact that this game has been out for a while, the latest version features a lot more content and upgraded art. However, it appears that several functions have yet to be added or have been held for future releases. One of these is the visibility of achievements in the game, but there is no way to see them from some kind of menu. They have also not been integrated into Steam. Another function that is lacking is full-screen display. There are numerous resolution possibilities, but only window mode is supported. The amusing thing about resolutions is that the higher you go, the more of the stage you will see. When set to the highest resolution, you can see nearly half of the stage. Gamepad is partially supported. You can do everything except change weapons. This is crucial because you must switch between different powers in order to proceed through the game. As a result, the only way to play the game properly is with a keyboard. Aside from that, the game plays great. The frog has the ability to jump, stick his tongue out, and cling to walls. Combat is based on pulling tiny enemies or things into your mouth and then spitting them out. When spitting does not kill an enemy, you can expose its weak point and jump on it. Despite being a good swimmer, the frog is somewhat weak in water. He can only stun opponents by blowing bubbles at them. The game is linear. There’s a world map that lets you return to previous stages, but there’s not much point in doing that. Checkpoints are everywhere so death it’s a big deal. There's not much else to say that would make it stand out from the pack. It plays great and has amazing art, so the fans of the genre will definitely find it fun.

Amo este juego, la primera vez que lo jugué hace mas de 7 años, quede fascinado, un arte increíble, de los mejores pixelart que he visto, una tremenda música, y tremendos diseños. desde esa vez estuve esperando que sacaran la próxima versión, todos los días me fijaba si había salido algo nuevo y por fin ha salido. Soy un gran fan de este juego, y si lo recomiendo SI, lo re recomiendo, y lo que mas me gusta de Frogatto es su esencia, es muy particular, todo su mundo y arte en general lo hacen un juego muy diferente, con un estética muy definida y original.

This is a really good side-scrolling platformer! If you liked Super Mario World or Yoshi's Island, you will probably like this. It also has a really interesting open source engine. It has the best level editor I have ever seen. You can even go back in time as you playtest your levels to try things over and over. Almost everything is programmable.

It's finally out! Congrats on the release! Art is stunning. Soundtrack is lovely too. Gameplay is great and these three things do a good job at immersing you in the story and its world. Challenges are always fun and the game isn't too punishing which I appreciate. Platforming is lenient for the most part and the game does a fairly good job at balancing its difficulty. Combat is good too, I love how the tongue is still the best weapon despite the other powers being more useful now. A good reminder that you're still a frog even with all the fancy magical stuff. Almost no complaints about the story tbh, nothing outstanding it's just cute and funny. Frogatto bounces off well with everyone he speaks to which makes him more fun to play as. The dialogue is endearing even if it drags on sometimes and all the characters are likeable. I'd say it's worth it to talk to anyone you run into and explore the setting if you're not in a hurry to finish. I'm absolutely in love with all the character designs too. Two things I'd say is the final boss was a little too easy, and the frog's smooth animation makes him look out of place next to the characters with choppier movement. Other than that this might be worth the money if you don't mind shorter and simpler games, but it will not fail to delight you. I'm really looking forward to the updates and any other projects from the devs since this game holds a special place in my heart. Hope it gets more recognition soon.

Delighted to see this finally on Steam. The older version from the website was great. Only two small complaints, being the lack of native controller support and floaty-feeling collision detection with enemies. Still, it’s hard to fault a game as charming as this one. And with a quick remapping of controls, it plays very nicely on Steam Deck!

Cela fait maintenant plus de 10 ans que je suis ce projet. Comme les autres commentaires présent, j'ai découvert le jeu à l'époque sur le site internet de Frogatto, et ce jeu m'a, à l'époque, beaucoup marqué. Ce n'est pas le meilleur jeu de plateforme qui existe sur Steam, le jeu a quelques problèmes il est vrai, mais c'est criminel et ça me brise le cœur de voir à quel point il est dans l'indifférence la plus totale. 7 évaluations au total au moment ou j'écris ces lignes, pour un jeu sorti il y a bientôt 1 an sur Steam, c'est injuste. Le jeu a tellement de personnalité, les dialogues sont drôles, les mécaniques de gameplay intéressantes, et la musique donne au titre une vibe feel good avec des designs d'ennemis mignons et originaux. Si vous êtes fan de plateformer et que vous tombez par hasard sur ce jeu, donnez lui sa chance, vous ne serez pas déçu.
