Frog X Log is a simple arcade-like one-button Flash tier game where you press a button to grab flies with your tongue (as the title suggests, you are a frog on a log). Different flies have different colours so you have to make sure your colours match, that's all there is too it. This is less sophisticated than Frogger... the absolute state of video games today. My heart weeps. The artwork here is terrible, it's a blend of old retro pixel "art" used as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics, and some of the most amateurish MS-Paint style drawings (I won't deign to call these "illustrations"). It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can do graphics properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result of these decisions. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. The very poor quality of this game puts it squarely on-par with ancient 1990's Flash/Java games, and given it's 2022 (and this was released not so far back in 2020), gamers and the industry expect and deserve better than this kind of low effort shovelware. The game is currently free, but the developers were charging money for it. Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game available for everyone without remuneration, but this is also in some ways an acknowledgement that the game failed to achieve any commercial success (unsurprising due to the quality issues). It's a shame in this case that the implementation is below the minimum standards a dedicated PC game should offer to enthusiasts. The quality here is simply too low for me to recommend, even for free.
