Fortress Frenzy

Fortress Frenzy is a fun return to the classic custom games from Warcraft III. If you liked building your base, sending waves, and watching battles play out, this game is for you. It’s not perfect yet — a few things still need tuning, but nothing game-breaking. The devs are active and listen to feedback, and with help from the community, it keeps getting better. Give it a try if you miss the old-school RTS feeling!

It nails that spirit of old-school RTS games but with its own unique style. You don’t micromanage units here — you just build production buildings and watch units hack each other to pieces. The game is in Early Access, but it’s already super playable and addictive. Dev is active and listens to feedback.

Even though Fortress Frenzy is still in early access, it already offers a surprisingly fun experience, especially if you have a few friends at hand. The game builds on the proven concept of castle fights: each player builds their own fortress, chooses buildings that generate units, and the goal is to conquer the enemy castle. It sounds simple, and indeed, you will understand the principles in a few minutes. It is in this simplicity that addictive depth and plenty of room for tactics are hidden. A big plus is that five playable races are already available, which differ in style and strategy, and the developer promises more. Despite the early development stage, the game is surprisingly stable and rich in content. Multiplayer is the heart of the experience, but if you don't have a teammate at hand, you can play the campaign or set up an AI opponent. If you like fast-paced strategies that can be played repeatedly and a little differently each time, Fortress Frenzy is definitely worth your attention. I look forward to seeing where the development moves next, but for now it is a solid basis for hours of fun.

This is effectively CastleFight from back in the Warcraft 3 days. It's great and I hope this keeps improving! I want to see the AI stuff eventually replaced by real artists as more support comes in.
