Might legitimately be one of the worst games that I have played, probably a lot better if you have nostalgia for it :steamhappy:
it doesn't even want to start.
Great throwback zombie game!

Don’t bother with this game. I remember playing it when it was first released, and while it was a mess, I still enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the game no longer runs on modern systems. I’ve tried all the recommended fixes - setting everything to low, running some kind of patch .bat file, reinstalling PhysX, and who knows what else, but every time the map loads, it crashes with a different error. At this point, the best thing that could happen would be for the source code to be released so a proper patch can be made by someone.
a very buggy, yet fun game needs a lot of work mostly for the crashes. love this game reguardless
Когда то давно я играл в эту игру. мне всё понравилось. но вот недавно у видел эту игру в стиме и имея компьютер за 200т рублей решил скачать и поиграть опять. но увы она у меня вылетает. исправте пожалуйста
Doing my part because the game currently doesn't work AT ALL for my PC and many others as you can see if you sort by recent. Would definitely be worth the two dollars if it did but it no longer functions and thus you basically pay two dollars for a crash screen.
Buyer beware! Many players report not being able to launch the game, even despite attempted troubleshooting. I would like to also inform you that this seems to be entirely luck based, as even if you did have a potato of a pc, it still risks not running. Fortunately, with the attached specs you should be fine. I even used a third-party save editor, and modified game files, yet as far as game-breaking issues go I have so far faced none. Remember, this game is from 2009, and it is unique compared to major survival zombie games like 7 Days to Die, State of Decay, Unturned, or Left 4 Dead 2. Story: 2/10 (Small journal entries from the player character after each day, practically non-existent) Controls: 4/10 (Clunky, and the skill mechanic will make you think your aim sucks.) Graphics: 6/10 (Of it's time; however, Mirror's Edge released the year before and that game is gorgeous) Replayability: 7/10 (This game features a mechanic akin to 7 Days to Die, in which on Day 14 a wave of zombies attacks your fort, hence "Fort Zombie," and the game ends.) World Design: 6/10 (Structures will repeat, but each mission is procedurally generated) Sound Design: 8/10 (I will never not be terrified of a stray gunshot) Variety of Content: 9/10 (Many weapons, buildings, survivors, zombie types and ways to play.) Total: 6/10
At least I had paid so low either 0.87$. The game always crashes to desktop without error message when you start a new game! Combat system is poorly made. I wish if it could be like Dead Island either easy hits. It is like impossible to clean a map to survive. Also the dev is gone so no contact and game support. He had just transfered the original 2009 game to steam. It is written no further update!
This game shows its age in multiple ways. Even if you fight through all the unique crashes just to get it running (and you'll bump into many more crashes afterwards too), so much of the game is just clunky. The survivor AI is more braindead than the zombies (you're very likely to lose them once they get stuck on a random wall), the RPG-esque combat is unintuitive and unsatisfying, searching for loot is *the* jankiest thing I've ever seen... It's frustrating because I see a lot of good potential, but that'll have to be realized in a modern game. I can't recommend this game unless you have the patience of a saint and tolerance for janky games.
