Formula Retro Racing

It's an arcade F1 Racer (yes, Virtua Racer), but taking that aside: * it has 8 tracks (3 unlocked until you start winning some races) * 1 car but in plenty of skins (which is fine, no argument there) * 3 game modes, but mostly play the same (getting points to unlock the last few tracks) And that's about it, HOWEVER: It does come at a very nice price point for that Arcade Racer kick and even though it has only 1 music track for racing, it really hits those retro notes. The AI can be jerks; when they have that sudden moment of "flicking" left tor right and it feels like they are intentionally putting you into a wall (touche car) but you can also ram them into oblivion and it feels very satisfying (even it is unsporting). I had fun with it, it's a short romp through the tracks and perfectionists out there may want to grind the axe on these if they have the time and patience, they are nicely made tracks with some clever turns and ideas.

A pretty simple but fun racing game.

This game is is a charming nostalgic homage to the 3D polygonal Sega racers of the 90s. Part Virtua Racing, Part Daytona USA. Music is catchy, Controls might need more tweaking, but are serviceable. Game has a decent challenge. Beware the damage meter. Too many hits and your vehicle will fall apart. Game can get a bit glitchy at times with the colors going black an white if you restart a race shortly after you crash your car. there are a handful of tracks to choose from and vehicle types are somewhat lacking but the game is still neat to check out if you're curious for nostalgia's sake.

It's pretty similar to Virtua Racing. Very fun retro arcade racing game.

Super cool graphics and music. The handling is enjoyable but super sensitive. Not easy and contact with barriers or other cars is punishing, but hey, this is formula racing! Has a healthy early 90s arcade racer feel to the whole thing.

Honestly a solid game I don't understand all the poor reviews other than the price of the game is quite a bit for a game like this feeling slightly unfinished but if you are to pick this up in a sale this is honestly a great single-player game to pass the time and enjoy with numerous game modes and attempting to master it.

Ok first off...I hope it is obvious, but you aren't getting Gran Turismo style with this. This is a cheesy little retro arcade "time extended" type of racer. If you realize that from out the door, you will get more out of it. Is it well put together? Not really. But it is fun! It is a blast slamming into another car and watching it explode to pieces....then you just keep going. There are only 8 tracks, but for what you get with it, you will get your $6 bucks worth. Its not a game you are going to drop 1000 hours into...but it is one to come back to now and then to play a track. Get it if you have some singles laying around and want a fun arcade style over the top f1 racer.
