Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Sep 7 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
No Cloud Saves At All
I chose this version over GOG's because of price and some small GBC conveniences. How surprised I was after a few hours discovering that it doesn't have an essential feature such as Cloud Saves. Doesn't matter that it appears "synchronizing" when you open/close the game. Doesn't matter that this feature appears in the Store page. Doesn't matter that there is a Publisher post from 2022 saying that it has. They are just lying, plain and simple. Check the foruns if you want. Now I'm stuck with this version because I already refunded my GOG's one and already surpassed the crappy 2-hour limit from Steam, and here writting the same thing in all six collections I bought. Never going to buy from this publisher (SNEG) again. Even if Cloud Saves aren't relevant for you, it's still baffling how Steam allows such misleading advetising in its Storefront. Sorry GOG, I'll never betray you again (yes, the game has Cloud Saves for real in there).
The game has new life to it with the additional tools. I played when it first came out and knew there were mods and addons, but getting them to work were impossible for non-technical players. The simplicity of finding journal entries and monitoring the battles is so amazing I want to play these all over again.. and again.

old stle fun
My Magic-user accidentally killed himself with a magic missile. Fun!
So this game is revolutionary for the time. Having played role-playing games in the 80s up to this, the first time I walked into new Phlan I was amazed. It still kept the fun of the older games for mapping and making sure you are completely diligent in your adventuring, but it offered better graphics and storyline. The enhancements from the new version will never bring it up to the level of skyrim, so if you are looking for an adventure like that you will be disappointed. What it provides is a baseline to remove UI inconsistencies across versions. I personally loved this game at the time and still find total enjoyment out of playing it. This also gives me the ability to play games during that time that I was unable to play.
This game is only going to appeal to a small number of people nowadays. But, if you are a fan of the older style 2D Turn-based RPGs, or if you are an older gaming looking to revisit these classics, you can't go wrong with this bundle. Sure the 1st edition AD&D ruleset is far different from the current version, but you have to take it for what it is. To me these games are great because they still require some imagination from the player to work. I am having a blast revisiting these classics! Not to mention that the added "Gold Box Companion" makes it so much easier than it was in the past. No more code wheels or mapping your own dungeons. The companion takes care of that for you. Can't wait to finish this bundle (will take awhile) so I can try out more of these classics. You can't beat the price point for how many hours of gaming goodness these bundles can provide, if this is your thing.
If you ever played and loved these goldbox games, i would definately recommend these, the age shows and feels in these games, but they are still pure gold...atleast for me.
Nostalgia is a dangerous thing (pretty sure ancient Greek physicians classed it as an illness). Sure, the graphics are just slightly above Pong, the sounds (wait, there's sound??) are primitive and the controls are so old you want to switch your keyboard out for an abacus but oh, that gameplay. The story is solid but it's the 1980's era ruleset that it's based on that's the real gem. Death saves, never heard of them, overpowered chuckleheads? You'll be lucky to escape a goblin with a butterknife
