Кто придумал управление в игре ??? Это просто ужас .. Зря потраченные деньги ..Геймпад не работает в этой игре ...
I'm not really sure if Forgotten Faces is an asset flip. Some elements of this game certainly make it seem like the developer put some effort into assembling some kind of original here. On the other hand, a lot of the game assets don't seem like they were created by the developer, but they haven't credited any asset creators for supplying assets, which might be a case of plagiarism. There's no evidence, so we need to give the benefit of the doubt... regardless, asset flip or not, the quality here is indistinguishable from many asset flip/cash grab scams, and that's a problem in itself. It's a third person top down adventure from the Russian shovelware garbage pushers, Volens Nolens (their games are almost indistinguishable from asset flips). The camera viewpoint is a lot like the first "Alone In The Dark" game, which is really awkward and annoying to play, especially considering Alone In The Dark was fairly well made, and this is not. The nonsensical advenute has you guiding a low poly woman asset thing around some pretty mediocre environments with weird alien skulls to sort out some kind of mystery... it's so badly written, it's headache inducing. Gameplay involves interacting with various options using a primitive radial menu to examine/use things etc. This game has been translated from some other language into English... badly. If this was done through Google Translate, Google Translate should feel ashamed of itself. Regardless, the language in this game is broken and will put off a lot of gamers. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game assets are far from bleeding edge, with lowish polygon counts and somewhat low resolution textures, making this look like it's at least 10 years old. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks poor in comparison to more professionally produced games as a result of their decisions. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The game contains stock/store assets/libraries/packages, but the "developer" here hasn't credited the people who actually did the work for the game. In some cases, many BY4.0 sound samples from FreeSounds, this breaches the license agreement the developer signed for the use of those assets. Claiming credit for the work of others as well as breaching software licenses is highly unethical. Gamers should be made aware when a developer behaves unethically and breaches license/copyright agreements, as buying games from unethical developers puts the gamers money at risk. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Forgotten Faces has the laughable price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the unethical nature of the developer. For comparison, the $5 asking price for this game could get you games like "Assetto Corsa", "Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel" or "Mass Effect 3". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
Forgotten Faces, developed and published by Volens Nolens Games, is a psychological adventure that builds itself around a striking and uncommon premise, yet struggles to fully transform that idea into a cohesive experience. The story centers on Alice, a young woman suffering from prosopagnosia—a condition that prevents her from recognizing faces—who finds herself navigating a mysterious mental institution while trying to uncover fragments of her past. On paper, this concept offers a powerful foundation for both narrative tension and gameplay innovation, as it naturally introduces uncertainty, distrust, and disorientation into every interaction. In practice, however, the game only partially realizes this potential. The narrative aims to explore themes of identity, memory, and perception, presenting events in a fragmented manner that encourages players to piece together meaning from scattered clues. Environmental storytelling and episodic sequences gradually reveal hints about Alice’s situation, but the game often relies too heavily on ambiguity without providing enough structure to support it. While a certain level of mystery can enhance a psychological story, here it frequently leads to confusion rather than intrigue. Key details feel underdeveloped, and the overall plot lacks a strong sense of progression, making it difficult to form a clear understanding of what is happening or why it matters. Gameplay is built around exploration and light puzzle-solving within a 3D environment. Players move through the hospital, interacting with objects, triggering events, and attempting to solve riddles that unlock further progression. The mechanics themselves are straightforward, but the way they are presented often lacks clarity. Objectives are not always communicated effectively, leaving players to wander in search of the next step. This can break immersion, as the challenge shifts from solving puzzles to simply figuring out what the game expects from you. Instead of reinforcing the narrative’s sense of mystery, this lack of direction often creates frustration. The puzzles vary in quality, with some moments offering interesting ideas that encourage observation and logical thinking, while others feel disconnected or overly simplistic. Rather than forming a consistent gameplay loop, these elements appear unevenly distributed, resulting in pacing that feels inconsistent. At times, the game builds a sense of tension or curiosity, only to lose momentum during sections where progression becomes unclear or repetitive. Visually, Forgotten Faces presents a modest interpretation of its setting. The mental hospital environment provides a fitting backdrop for the story, but the overall presentation lacks refinement. Textures, lighting, and character models are functional but do not convey a strong sense of atmosphere or detail. Given the psychological nature of the game, a more polished visual design could have significantly enhanced immersion and tension. As it stands, the visuals support the basic structure of the experience but rarely elevate it. The audio design follows a similarly restrained approach. Ambient sounds and occasional musical cues attempt to create a sense of unease, but they are used sparingly and without consistent impact. There are moments where the sound design contributes to the atmosphere, particularly in quieter sections, but these are not sustained enough to define the experience. The overall effect is one of emptiness rather than deliberate minimalism. One of the more noticeable aspects of Forgotten Faces is how its central concept—prosopagnosia—is not fully integrated into its gameplay systems. While it influences the narrative, it rarely translates into meaningful mechanics that affect how players interact with characters or make decisions. This disconnect between concept and execution is a recurring issue throughout the game, as many of its ideas remain underexplored. Ultimately, Forgotten Faces is a project with clear ambition but uneven execution. It introduces a compelling premise and touches on themes that could have supported a deeply engaging psychological experience, yet it struggles to bring these elements together into a cohesive whole. The lack of clarity in both gameplay and storytelling undermines its strengths, leaving players with an experience that feels incomplete rather than intentionally mysterious. In the end, it stands as an example of a game with strong ideas that are not fully realized. While there are moments of intrigue and glimpses of what it could have been, the overall experience is likely to feel disjointed for most players. Rating: 3/10
