Came back after several years to finish achievements and i really wondered why i even picked it back up. The game on paper seems fun however all the systems and mechanics even the layout of the dungeons are horrid. After the first dungeon you realize you really don't have to clear anything and can just walk through. There is some charm to the game, you'll end up skipping dialog because where it does give you story... it's a damn book and sadly it's not interesting. Wish there was more to it, You clear a single map then do a dungeon then repeat that 4-5 times annnnd done. The loop is VERY quick if you just walk/dodge though to the next floor boss AI is garbage and you can be extremely under leveled to take them down. I know the game is pretty old and was a kick starter but.. the voxel style grabbed me and that was about it.

I have played this game on and off since around its release and ive gotten it for my buddies to play. Even if it was just a 1 go at the campaign. And i never left a review for this game so i am doing one now. It was great fun entirely, and the bugs were funny and the shopkeepers were... a bit annoying at times, accidentally selling certain things, but this is overall just a good game. A gem from 2015 (A decade ago, wow) that just got me with its unafraid-to-be-funny or Over-the-top lore mixed with an ending that kinda got me, honestly, and then the class system that just doesnt care at all what you take. Just put a point in wherever you want! No stat pre-requesites, just have the thing before this one and you can get that one, and then you can put more points into 1 thing. Simple and allows a lot of creativity, and everything scales off of 1 singular stat, your WEAPON DAMAGE stat (unless you count the bubble shields of which scale off your health). Also, VOXEL CHICKEEEEENNNNSSSSS!!! This game made me happy then and it still does now, when i want to go back to it ^-^
excelente ,viciante , com amigos, melhor ainda.
Really great game. Cool voxel style ARPG. Super affordable too!
Forge Quest from the get go is obviously a small time indie game and as such there is a certain degree of leeway that in my opinion you have to give to teams that are small or potentially even solo made. I am not that informed of this game's team or anything of the like but this is the developers/publishers only game and was released almost a decade ago at the time of this review which leads me to believe this was a one and done type of game development. So with that in mind I am not too harsh, but for the reasons below I would not recommend this game. It is quite a straightforward concept of dungeon crawling with various level up trees and lots of random gear, but the variety of the items and the general uninteresting skill system really bogs this game down. Regardless of what class you play the gameplay rarely ventures from afk standing and basic attacking until you have mana/rage to use your abilities that actually do substantial damage. I will admit that I did make it through 2 difficulties of hardcore before I fully lost interest, but that is mostly because a skill I worked to unlocking was completely horrible compared to a skill I had been using since the first couple levels. As for gear, 99% of gear you find is going to be sold or used to upgrade other gear, as there is rarely any point in swapping gear other than attack or armor improvements as the various passives and effects are very underwhelming. Most of your character's power comes from their flipsidedly overpowered skill points, where 3 levels can give you something like 30% more damage or 25% more movespeed or an ability that triples your entire damage output with no downtime. I absolutely adore RPG dungeon crawler style games, or games like PoE, Grim Dawn, etc, but the sheer underwhelming progression in this game just makes it an absolute slog of excitement after you realize what you're in for. The game's economy is just also deplorable to the point where there is no reason to go into a shop other than to sell your items for minuscule amounts of gold to hopefully be able to afford some upgrades with. Lastly, and this is very subjective, but I am not a big fan of the game's writing or attempts at humor through being quirky and despite being quirky trying to write line after line of monologue or "lore" for a game that features a chicken as the main antagonist (not too much of a spoiler, you learn this in the first couple hours). There was a time where I realized you can skip dialogue not only by clicking, hitting escape, or hitting enter, but that they all help and even when doing that some of the later dialogues still would take 10s~ to get through with all the clicking. It is just too much for a game that is so small and barren of quality. The idea is not horrible by any means, but there is just a lot of rough edges that make this game insanely unappealing and despite my commitment to hunting and grinding things out nonetheless, for the average person this is not worth your time with how unrefined and generally tedious the game is from nearly the onslaught. If it weren't for the fact that one of the skills lets you jump over all doors and walls (including ones requiring keys, puzzles, or fighting specific enemies or triggering specific events), I think I would have dropped it right after the first play through. I do love games like this and the ideas of dungeon crawling while having all the RPG elements of random exciting loot, fluid skilltrees that let you cross class or build your own skill tree, while setting a unique scene that keeps you engaged, but sadly, despite it's best efforts, this in my humble opinion fails to do all of these things at once. I did not expect to write this much about it, but it should give you more or less a decent idea of why I would recommend everyone to give this game a pass, even if you see it on sale for 2$ like I'm positive I did once upon a time.
reminiscent of days when i had wild tangent launcher and played games like fate. its a bit rough but its still fun and worth a dollar for sure.
The biggest issue is the constantly popping up runtime error, most likely caused by the outdated game engine which isn't supported anymore. And whoever made this game back in 2015 probably isn't even around anymore so there's that too... Sadly gets rather boring and repetitive after two runs, not to mention the minimum of 5 playthroughs you'll have to do if you want the achievements.
Love this game it is like dungeons and dragons RPG if you die you lose that character. SO MUCH TO DO!
