Our valiant hero Flynn possesses the ability to influence a mysterious energy and modify his style of combat, transforming him into a force to be reckoned with. Inspired by the golden age of the SNES, Flynn: Son of Crimson is the 2D action adventure that’ll take you right back to the 90s!

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
𝔼𝕒𝕤𝕪 𝕣𝕖𝕥𝕣𝕠 𝕡𝕝𝕒𝕥𝕗𝕠𝕣𝕞𝕖𝕣 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕤𝕖 𝕨𝕙𝕠 𝕒𝕣𝕖 𝕝𝕠𝕠𝕜𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕥𝕠 𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕝𝕝
Are you looking for a short and sweet polished indie action platformer that blends nostalgic charm with modern design?? Look no further, Flynn: Son of Crimson is exactly what you're looking for. Set on the vibrant island of Rosantica that's been struck by an ethereal evil, the game follows Flynn, a young hero tasked with protecting his homeland from the corruption known as the Scourge. The story is very linear and simple to follow, but the more you learn, the more depths and layers you discover about it (and the more the title of the game makes sense lol) Gameplay is where the game really shines. Unlike more rigid retro platformers, Flynn’s controls are tight and modern, allowing for precise movement and fluid combat. As you progress, you unlock different elemental abilities (like fire, ice, and lightning), which add variety to both combat and puzzle-solving. This system keeps things fresh and gives you a sense of growth that feels meaningful rather than incremental. The soundtrack is really good and complements areas of this adventure very nicely, enhancing emotional tones of different areas, battles and cutscenes. To sum up, the game is beautifully crafted and very easy to breeze through. It modernizes retro gameplay without losing the pixel art charm and it's perfect for players who are looking for a smooth, engaging adventure without the frustration of the difficulty that usually comes with this kind of games. 9/10 (it's just too short though)

A nice little game that’s pretty fun. It’s not that hard to 100% and get all achievements. The combat is very simple but it feels pretty good once you unlock a few moves and weapons. I really like level based platformers. I play so many Metroidvanias that it feels like almost every 2D platformer is one. This is a good simple level based platformer.
Flynn: Son of Crimson is a 2D Action Platformer about Flynn, the boy with the crimson hair who sets out on a mission to retrieve the guardian spirits that were taken away from his companion Dex. The game offers a linear based stage system filled with secrets and crystals to collect, you can then use the crimson crystals collected to purchase upgrades to become stronger and unlocked new combos, Health upgrades...etc The combat system is fun which relies on juggling and smashing your enemies as well as mastering different elements that will help you during your journey. The Pixel art was really fascinating as well as the sprites of the surrounding environment, the enemies and the NPCs. There was so much love put into making this. The journey from the beginning till the end was and I enjoyed so much in 101% the game, yup you read that right, there's an achievement related to everything else and getting all collectibles while allows to go beyond 100%. The music and OST was a classic and really enjoyable to listen to during this amazing journey. Boss fights requires quick reactions and dodging abilities as far to what I've seen, they didn't pose much threat or challenge but at the same time can get you frustrating if the boss interrupts your rhythm of combos you're landing. It's a very recommended 2D Action Platformer. It's really a short must played journey that will definitely enjoy and especially if you're a big fan of this genre. Overall Rating 10/10
Old-school 2D platformer that is chill to progress through with classic art and music to boot. Basic story keeps you going to the next stage and the different unlock and level mechanics keep things interesting enough. Mostly linear but the small amount of doubling back for challenge stages, hidden items and reuse of maps for the scourge are done decently without making things feel repetitive. Couple of fun boss fights toward the end a very chill play experience.
A solid action platformer. Nothing more needs to be said. It's exactly what it looks like.
I backed this on Kickstarter ages ago but it went into my backlog and I only just got round to playing it now, and my goodness I regret not playing this earlier. The combat is simple, but varied with the three weapon types, magic, and the extensive moves and bonuses you can learn. The story is pretty simple but it's effective and each area is different enough with varied enemies that it keeps you engaged. Also, having a massive dog as your ally that you can use in certain sections makes this all the better! I know it's unlikely to ever get a sequel since Studio Thunderhorse closed a couple of years ago, I would have loved to have seen more with Rozia. I felt she and Flynn had a lot more they could have explore as characters and, while Zealock was a difficult and rewarding fight, I would have liked to have done a bit more either with or against Rozia. All in all, a really fun game that's the right amount of challenging. Definitely give it a play!
This is a pretty decent platformer in my opinion. The story and gameplay feels normal to me but that probably because I've played tons of platforming game in my entire life. The story is just a simple save someone without heavy plot twist and such but the gameplay is where the game shines. The skills you can unlock make it more fun to attack enemies, the level design are fine and boss battles are fun. The normal enemies do feel a little buff though which can make it feel like a chore to attack them. Also I love the pixel art a lot, it's really beautiful. You can see the soul and hard works of the artist throughout the game. Overall it's alright. Not really for a hardcore gamer but would feel nice to a casual gamer
A nice 2D platformer with pretty average writing. The level design was very interesting and explored mechanics a lot, with thought put into how to make them puzzly. SOME of the bosses were pretty fun, others were average.
Red is my favorite color! Ok I didn't know how to start this review off but on a serious note, this game is very good! Pretty short and probably shorter if you're just blazing through the story. Speaking of, the powers you get are so cool! I ain't gonna spoil them though. In terms of the artstyle, I admire how fluid the pixel art is! The story is also pretty decent imo. Nothing complex but it's neat. I like the gameplay lots more lol. Plus you can ride a big 'ol puppy! I think one con I have with this game is that (in my opinion) it's a bit of a slow burn at the beginning but it gets more fun as you progress. Overall, I think this game is great! Would definitely recommend to folks that are Metroidvania fans.
