Fun game. Well worth the price.
It's fun, cute, replayable for at least a handful of hours, and the price is reasonable. Fluffy Sailors is a good roguelite run-based arcade game. You are intended to fail, upgrade, improve your fleet, capture new ships, and eventually succeed with a combination of your game skill and the upgrades you unlock. There's a fun selection of ships that perform differently -- each with strengths and weaknesses. A good selection of maps and challenges, enough to entertain you for a while, and delight with many cute animals.
Ellietendo's Review Of Fluffy Sailors
I received a free copy of this game for review purposes. I used a mouse & keyboard combo and my Steam Deck for gameplay.
Pros:

Comical Story – “Fluffy Sailors” has a very interesting storyline about the Royal Chef being kidnapped and the Queen wanting you to find him! What makes this story even more fun is the comical story in between ship battles. This alone really lifts the game to another level.
Interesting “Level-Up Tree” - The level-up tree is an interesting mechanic which will really help you later on in the game. It's worth investing in and is definitely a nice feature.

Cons:

Grindy! - With skill trees comes a grindy nature, and unfortunately, “Fluffy sailors” is no exception. While the skill tree may keep you interested for a little bit, after a while, it becomes unbearable. I wish there were easier ways to unlock skills, rather than having to do loads of battles and hoping for the best.
Lack Of Progression - Progression seems very slow. No matter how hard I battle with my ships, I don't feel like I'm going very far with the game. It's hard to judge the progression in this game. My next point explains it a bit more.. Am I just bad at this game?
Bad At The Game? - I'm unsure if this is a “Me” issue or if it's an issue with the game itself; the CPU ships are ridiculously overpowered. They lock onto the player so aggressively that it becomes tricky early on to defeat them. I've played this game for a good few hours; I haven't even got past the 1st chapter yet…

Overall:
I can't recommend this game, unfortunately, in its current state. Whilst “Fluffy Sailors” has a charming narrative and dynamic level-up tree, it isn't enough to have me wanting to progress in this game further. The grindy nature doesn't help with this review, particularly since it needs to be engaging to appeal to new players. Now I’m unsure if it’s the game itself or if it’s me having a “Skill Issue” Or if the game is just that little bit too challenging, the CPUs are way too aggressive for my liking. If the difficulty were adjusted in a future update, this would help things out. I truly think that “Fluffy Sailors” may have a second chance to win players over if they fix some pretty major mechanics in the game itself. Hoping for the best in the future.
cute little game. had to get used to the aiming a bit and anticipate enemy movement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7MSkXJ-Z5Q Steam Recommendations YouTube TikTok
6/10 Game, buy this game on discount only. So this game is a ship battle game, and that is. No open world space to wonder to admire the sea or trading items to gain product and profit, upgrade skill, etc. You just put in a small arena and fight other ship and after you win, you move to a different arena to fight another ship, and repeat. Its kinda boring honestly. Also the UI of the game is not really good, there is no indicator about your ship current active cannon. I mean, to fire cannons, you need to press LMB or RMB based on ship direction. The problem is, the ship rotates and when you think the left side cannon ready to fire (LMB), and you press the LMB, but it turned out it was RMB because of the ship rotate around 180 degree (it is confusing sometimes as you do in the battle and need to concentrate to the enemy).
A very fun game that is much much harder than it seems. One thing that isn't clear is that each time you fire your guns, your are actually firing your crew out of the cannons, so if you run out of crew, you run out of ammo. Enjoy!
Extremely cute game, I felt like I had jumped into Pi-Rats of the Caribbean or something. I love it. Controls are excellent, got a little confused on if I was hiring or mending ship a little though
+ cute + fun combat + Progression: ship sunk, you buy upgrade and try again to see if you can sail further - Dev not active on steam forum - No discord - Encountered a bug where cannons would not reload, so had to delete save to start over. Probably still more bugs to iron out
Hmmm...
Good fun
