I have to be honest. I'm not sure if i can recommend this game or not. For me its the epitome of both loving and loathing it. The game is cute, a chill soundtrack and generally fun. but... the game has some features that makes me soo frustrated. So many times do i get stuck in some time of near forever loop witch only ends with my death to the lava. I am not a good pinball player , not even close, but when i die 9 times in a row becouse i get into one of those infinite loops(where i cant do anything mind you) i feel like smashing my keyboard. I escaped the volcano once... and frankly i dont think ill touch the game again after it. Tldr: charming game, generaly fun, has some annoying mechanics, avoid if you have anger issues .
Great little game. If your a pinball lover this is an easy pickup. Short but easy enough to complete given some play. I have encountered the rare level that it blocked completely by rock or has spinners and teleporters in positions that are impossible to pass. Fortunately runs are short and there are three checkpoints except in endless where getting through 20 of these generated levels in a row can get infuriating.

It's a fairly basic pinball game, but there are a lot of little things I didn't like. There's the way that, every time you collect a gem, you are told to use them to unlock characters, even long after you've unlocked all of them. There's the really awkward and jarring screen transitions, that make it difficult to track your ball. There's the pointless need to click multiple times to restart after failure; I just want to try again, slowing me down does not improve my mood! There's the ball that is supposed to give you a second chance, but at least half the time respawns in an instant-fail position. This is a budget title, so perhaps you shouldn't expect too much. But, when I look back on my playtime, I can't honestly say I enjoyed myself. Not recommended.
This is the first Sokpop game i have played and it was quite mediocre. I will leave thumbs up, but it was for me on the edge. Would rate it 5,5/10. There is an adventure mode and you can unlock an endless mode after beating adventure mode with 3 different characters, which you can unlock for gems you will collect while playing. There are in total 5 different balls/characters which all have different abilities. Unfortunately there is no story.... You are starting at the bottom of a vulcano and have to make your way up, floor by floor, through three biomes, chased by rising lava, to reach the top of the vulcano to escape, except you are playing the endless mode, then you can play theoretically as long as you can survive. Every run will be different, cuz level are randomly generated and offer replayability. The problem is that those randomly generated level are really unbalanced. Sometimes it will be like a walk in the park, or it could be just impossible to beat. Once i had a bug which didnt allow me to go up to the next floor and also had few times someting like an infinite loop, cuz of some obstacles, which also didnt allow me to continue and it was really frustartating, especially that the lava is chasing you constantly and if you are captivated in those kind of loops, even if not infinite, the lava will end your game quite quickly anyway. Achievements work fine and its easy to 100%. It will probably take around 2h, depending on your pinball skills and also luck not to encounter too many bugs. Overall i think i wouldnt recommend it for the majority, but if you are a Sokpop fan or looking for a small indie flipper game and also not too frustrated if bugs will end your run, you can give it a try.
Not even an ounce of fun half of the maps that can generate each level always have clutter that make it even harder to get through the top, despite aiming your shot upward already being difficult enough. So the result is you mashing the paddles for a full minute in agony as the lava rises and consumes you, this is the entire game. might be a terribly sadistic way to try and make sure the game time to go over 2 hours so it cant be refunded idk there's even the instances where the entrance to next level generates way too far away horizontally, causing both levels to not even connect, softlocking you and killing your run. and such occurrence is very common. It's a bad game, It sucks.
This game is amazing. From the gameplay to the lore, this game is for casual and hardcore gamers alike. The lore is extremely rich and deep and it will keep you invested. I recommend this to anyone.
In Flipper Volcano, you play as a variety of living pinballs with different abilities that are trying to escape certain death from a large amount of lava rising underneath them. Quite the precarious situation, but you control the movements of the living pinballs by moving pinball bumpers placed throughout the various regions of the volcano. Each region within the volcano has different kinds of obstacles you face. This is a very simple yet challenging game. I'd recommend it if you don't mind or if you like pinball, but only in those cases, as this isn't a revolutionary version of pinball, nor is it the most fleshed out.
Flipper Volcano is a flipper in a volcano, but it doesn't end here, no! Its also a pinball and most importantly it happens inside of a mountain with lava inside. Jokes aside, bigger rooms/tables would have been a blast both in the normal game and the endless mode. Nice concept, good execution, could be better but i don't complain :) p.s. Attenti a non poggiare le palle nella lava, fa male.
Rating: ★★★ - Good Time Played: 0.5 hours Gameplay: • A short but fun, fast-paced arcade-style pinball roguelike experience. • Unique mechanic of flipping balls up to higher platforms to guide a ball up through a volcano; both challenging and satisfying. • Replayability is short due to a small handset of random level elements. • Some runs are random to the point where some are super easy while others are very difficult, which might frustrate players looking for a smoother progression curve. Graphics\Music: • Minimalistic colourful art style, giving the game a unique charm. • The movement of the ball and rising lava are fluid and complement the frantic gameplay. Before you Play: • Collect gems where possible to unlock new characters. I found Dashy to be the best to help me clear a run. • If you like this game, you might like 'Pinball Spire' or 'Demon's Tilt'.
Played on Steam Deck. The controller input cannot be rebound and is set to left and right D pad, much worse than triggers or bumpers. Repetitive since the only goal is launch the ball up the direct center and there is no variety to the stages except putting some spinners that completely stall the ball. I'm glad Sokpop grew from this.
