Flight of the Icarus is a game where you play as a privateer who owns an airship that helps ferry goods from town to town in a post-apocalyptic world where the skies are dominated by pirates and danger. Shoot down enemy aeroplanes with a variety of deadly weaponry. Keep the ship from falling out the sky.

Its an innovative concept but it gets boring very fast.
i liked it on asddictiong games .com as a pre teen
1/10 - my first 1 of 10. The first level or 2 was okay then you realized you have 6 guns and one guy trying to shot down enemies all around you. this is a minigame to a real game at best. and a eye gouger at that.
This game is garbage. I hope I got it for free somewhere and didn't actually pay money for it.

After going through all my old games on Steam and categorizing the ones I completed, I clicked on this game for some nostalgia only to see the reviews. Mostly negative? Really? Did they even finish the game? I bought Guns of Icarus Online BECAUSE of this game, which was called "Guns of Icarus" at the time, not the other way around for some "skin". I anxiously awaited the release of Guns of Icarus Online for years. Pros - The game is still a challenge 12 years later! I just tried to focus only armor with no tesla/rockets and I got SWARMED. Had to try a different path - The game has multiple paths so there's a lot of replayability - The game has a survival mode called "Into the Breach" if the main campaign is too easy for you - Enemies have a hit indicator - The plot of the game is good, simple, and mysterious, which is what hooked me on looking forward to Guns of Icarus. You're a trader between cities, why are the people buying this game expecting some complex, hero's journey plot? - The upgrade system is straightforward. Do terribly and you get nothing, do good and you get a gun, do great and you get an upgrade Cons - The last build or just modern graphics ruined the text. In the map, the names of each location is displayed 2-3 times and the tutorial text has improper margins - The enemies can retreat behind an invisible wall that makes them invincible, and you end up wasting a few shots thinking you can hit them In conclusion, I believe most of the negative reviews are people who were overly critical of this game, and did not play it until completion. Steampunk games like this and StormWinds 1.5 are a rarity nowadays, and I wish more developers would make games in this space, but if they see this many negative reviews, we aren't going to get more games in this genre. tl;dr Stop being overly-critical of an overall good game.
for a game that came out in 2010, lets be honest, it looks like my toilet after I drop some "bombs" of my own. HOWEVER, it's a pretty decent game, for real. If you're into defense games you may like this game, imo I think the panic when all your ship's gear is on fire is awesome. Some people may find it a bit awkward being only singleplayer (buy the 2nd game if you want that) but, since I'm a sadist after completing Dark Souls 1-3, I don't mind the challenge. I like how the game forces you into making these split second decisions e.g. do I repair the right engine to keep the speed up or jump on the cannons to thin out the attackers*? Anywho, if you wanna chase that "dark souls boss battle victory satisfaction" dragon, this will keep you going until your next fix. It's by no means the pure uncut stuff, but it'll get the job done. *victory for any given level is achieved only by getting from point A to point B alive and with your cargo intact. Enemies just keep coming until you reach the destination.
