Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.71/day in the week to Sep 15 → 6.6/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

My first playthrough of this game was a mixed bag. I think if you go into this game without seeing it as a Five Nights at Freddy's game, you'll probably enjoy it. Because for the most part, it doesn't feel like it at all. The game can also be very frustrating at times, seemingly you're just supposed to guess what you're doing whilst confused at the same time. I will say that playing this at a slow pace can be decently enjoyable, especially the first hour or so. But it does eventually get old when there's basically an enemy in every room you go into which you do end up running around throwing wind-up mice everywhere and hiding in lockers. The game itself looks very very good, and the atmosphere at the start is perfect. But as you go on you end up not being able to take a second and admire the work on the artists who worked on this game as it just feel like constant pressure to keep moving and avoid the main enemy. There was one segment of the game that you encounter early on that left me completely lost, not knowing what to do, or why it was even happening which experiencing something like that so early on and dying continuously without knowing what to do is very very irritating and did discourage me from playing the rest of the game until I was told to keep going. It does slightly pick up towards the end and has some interesting areas but again, it's just a small room with one enemy in that you have to dance around. I would say if you have patience and don't treat it like a FNaF game, you'll probably enjoy it enough to play it once, probably not again.

First of all, I just want to say that I genuinely loved this game. In my opinion, this is Steel Wool Studios’ best Five Nights at Freddy’s game so far, and one of the best projects they’ve made alongside Scott Cawthon. I had a great time playing it. Unlike Security Breach, which launched as a buggy mess, Secret of the Mimic is surprisingly polished. I only encountered a few very minor bugs that were barely noticeable. Technically, it’s a huge improvement. The gameplay is fun, engaging, and keeps you interested throughout. The puzzles actually make you feel like you’re playing a survival horror game rather than just another jumpscare simulator. The hide-and-seek mechanics are enjoyable, the pacing is good, and while the chase sequences are exciting—especially the first time—you have to be careful not to overuse them. Poppy Playtime is a good example of how repeating chase sequences too often eventually makes them lose their impact. It’s like printing money; eventually the value drops. One thing I liked the most and it's probably quite minor but was the freedom the game gives you. There are moments where the Mimic tells you to go one way, but you’re free to think for yourself and choose another path. I thought that was a really smart design choice, and it’s something I’d love to see expanded in future games. The atmosphere is easily one of the game’s biggest strengths. The art direction, environments, character designs, lighting, sound design, and music all work together incredibly well (AND the silence!!! When everything went quiet with scary sounds it was great!). That’s probably where most of my enjoyment came from. I also really enjoyed the story. Since this is essentially a starting point for the Mimic storyline, it’s much easier for newer fans to get into without needing years of previous lore knowledge. The tapes are worth paying attention to, and I like that the story is much easier to follow than previous FNAF games. In addition of course, QUITE/VERY intresting LORE added to FNAF. That said, it is definitely a different direction. Older FNAF games encouraged the community to dig through source code, hidden files, websites, and tiny clues to figure everything out together. Secret of the Mimic explains much more directly through tapes and cutscenes. I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing, but it’s definitely different. I also think the game successfully brings back something that Security Breach and Ruin struggled with: being scary. Over the years FNAF slowly drifted away from horror, but Secret of the Mimic feels much closer to what the series should be. Horror changes over time, and what scared people in 2014 isn’t necessarily what scares people today, but this game moves the franchise back in the right direction. That doesn’t mean it’s perfect. If I had to describe my criticisms, I’d put almost all of them in the “yellow” category rather than the “red.” They’re things that could be improved, not major flaws. My biggest concern is making sure FNAF doesn’t slowly lose its own identity. Secret of the Mimic sometimes reminds me of Poppy Playtime with its large environments, exploration, and structure. That’s not necessarily bad—I actually enjoyed it (to an extent)—but I don’t want FNAF to become another Poppy Playtime. FNAF has its own identity, and I think future games should continue building on that instead of drifting too far away from what made the series special. Security Breach experimented with becoming a much larger game, but it didn’t fully work. There were plenty of good ideas, but many of them weren’t executed particularly well. Ruin improved some things, but it still had similar issues. Secret of the Mimic feels like the first time Steel Wool has really started putting those lessons together. It’s a major improvement, and you can genuinely feel they’re moving in the right direction. I also think some mechanics could be refined further. The puzzles are good, but they could become more sophisticated over time. The hide-and-seek gameplay is enjoyable, but there’s definitely room to expand on it. Some sections can drag a little, and I understand why some players might get bored during certain parts or just bored over the "long" gameplay hours (like Poppy). The minigame isanother example. I like the idea behind it, but I don’t love how it's always available from the office. Personally, I think it feel more natural if they were hidden away as optional discoveries or integrated into the world more organically. That’s just a small preference, though. Technically, I don’t have many complaints. The game is stable overall. My biggest annoyance was the sensitivity settings not always behaving correctly, along with a few minor bugs here and there, but nothing serious enough to affect my overall experience. I also think some reviews have been overly harsh. I’ve seen people say you’re better off watching the story on YouTube than actually playing the game. I do disagree. If you’re only interested in lore, then sure, maybe that works for you. But as a game, I genuinely think Secret of the Mimic is worth playing. I also understand why some longtime fans still prefer Scott Cawthon’s original style of FNAF. Those games had a completely different identity, and not everyone wants the franchise to evolve into these much larger horror experiences. That’s a fair opinion. Personally, though, I think Steel Wool is finally finding the right balance (BUT not perfect, it's like a good B- or what I agree with more, B grade). One criticism I do fully agree with is the price (40 DOLLARS?). I think it’s simply too expensive for what you’re getting. Once these games become even more polished and continue improving, then I think that price will be much easier to justify. Overall, I think Secret of the Mimic is a massive step forward. It’s easily my favorite Steel Wool FNAF game and probably my favorite in the series overall (DUE TO GAMEPLAY DIRECTION). It’s not perfect, but it’s much closer to greatness than people are giving it credit for. More importantly, for the first time since Security Breach, I’m genuinely excited to see what Steel Wool does next. It feels like they’re learning and not only that, doing good stuff. They're finding the right directionand balance. Though, constantly experimenting with stuff isn't always the greatest idea, stick to some original formula. That's all from me though! Wrote this all at 3 AM xD, but a game quite (and to a good extent) worth playing!
muy bueno solo que tiene muchos bugs y luego los enemigos se traban o las zonas no tienen sentido para saber que se hace despues
