I think everyone would like to escape from their usual life for a while and be completely alone, but still have the opportunity to talk to someone. That's what I would like to do. This is a story about Henry, who takes a job as a lookout on a tower to escape from his life. He clearly wants peace, but it turns out that this place has its own history. We also learn about the protagonist as he interacts with Delilah, a woman who has also chosen to escape from her own life. I like how the characters are revealed, even though we don't see them (only Henry's hands and feet, as the game is played from a first-person perspective). So, if you want to escape from everything for a few hours, but still immerse yourself in a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and not just relax with beautiful views (although there is enough of that, visually the game is very pleasant), go to the tower to work as a watchman!

Some games leave you with adrenaline. Others leave you with answers. Firewatch leaves you with silence. At first glance, it seems like a simple walking simulator. You spend your days climbing hills, marking trails, watching for smoke, and chatting over a radio with your supervisor, Delilah. It sounds almost mundane. Yet with every passing day, that quiet routine slowly wraps itself around you until the Wyoming wilderness feels less like a map and more like a state of mind. Henry isn't a hero. He's a man carrying the weight of a life that's falling apart, hoping that putting enough distance between himself and his problems will somehow make them disappear. The forest becomes his refuge, but it also becomes a mirror. Every lonely trail, every empty lookout tower, every unanswered question reflects something he's trying not to face. What impressed me most wasn't the mystery - it was the conversations. Delilah is never physically beside you, yet she's one of the most believable companions I've met in a game. Through nothing more than voices over a radio, the two of you build trust, share jokes, avoid painful truths, and slowly become part of each other's solitude. It's incredible how attached you become to someone you've never actually met. Firewatch constantly toys with your expectations. It convinces you that something bigger is happening, encouraging every theory you can imagine. But by the end, it gently asks a question that hit me harder than any plot twist ever could: Why are we so desperate for extraordinary explanations when ordinary human pain is already complicated enough? The art direction deserves endless praise. Every sunrise paints the forest in warm shades of orange and gold, making every hike feel peaceful, even when paranoia starts creeping into your mind. It's one of those rare worlds that feels alive without trying to overwhelm you. Firewatch isn't about solving a mystery. It's about realizing that some things can't be solved. Some wounds don't magically heal, some conversations end unfinished, and sometimes the hardest thing isn't surviving the wilderness - it's returning to the life you tried to leave behind. It's a beautiful reminder that escaping your problems and confronting them are two very different journeys. And long after the final radio call fades into silence, you'll probably still be thinking about the one conversation you never got to finish.
this ♥♥♥♥ is so ass
IM ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ STUCK AGAIN AND AGAIN
peak game, need a second game with deliliahs pov
I went into Firewatch not really knowing what to expect, and it ended up being one of those games that sticks with you. The conversations between Henry and Delilah felt so real that I actually found myself looking forward to every radio call. It never felt forced or overly dramatic. The world is gorgeous too. Walking through the forest while the story slowly unfolds is surprisingly relaxing, even when things start getting creepy. The atmosphere does a great job of making you feel isolated without relying on cheap scares. I know some people weren't happy with the ending, neither was i. Why couldn't she just wait a minute? I actually wanted to see how she looks like after speaking to her over the radio for so long!! If you're looking for fast-paced gameplay, this probably isn't for you. But if you enjoy games with great writing, memorable characters, and a story that stays with you after you finish it, I'd definitely recommend giving Firewatch a try.
