I decided to check out this game as I was curious about the project from a person who created the character of Sanya for "Sword Art Online: Integral Factor" and wanted to show them my appreciation. Trailer and screenshots already have shown me what to expect, and these most certainly don't lie. So I can definitely appreciate the honesty when selling a game with so many shortcomings. This is most certainly the case of "My first game in Unity". There's no story really, game can be completed in 30 minutes (no matter the difficulty level), and graphics are very, very simple, amount of animations can be counted on two hands, and controls are janky (also keyboard mapping is horrible and cannot be changed - WASD movement, HJKL for attacks, dodges and ult)... Which is a shame, because if the title would be refined, it might've been a decent tribute to Megaman and Castlevania, especially since music is nice. Gameplay loop - while simple - can be satisfying. There's a constant barrage of projectiles, traps and monsters have large hitboxes, and despite having only three attack options, it feels good to make effective use of these to get the highest rank. There's some replay value, if you wish to get a S rank in all three acts (and to do so, you have to explore and not die). But you still have to ignore lack of content you pay 5 euros for. It's not an attrocious game, it functions, you can have fun with it if you're okay with lack of polish and it has a decent difficulty level, but with many other options you have for the same price I'd recommend buying it only if you want to support its creator and if you're okay with what's being presented to you in the trailer. PS. The game is in Japanese only, but since there's no story, it's not really an issue, as the text only explains game's mechanics, which you can figure out by yourself anyway. Just remember to use a controller. PPS. Sanya.
