Finding Fido: The Journey

Literally unplayable. The controls are absolutely useless and I could find no discernable pattern in movement. I eventually managed to cross the boat like 10 minutes into gameplay and immediately fell through the map and could not move or respawn. No buttons could be pressed and the camera was stuck facing the wall. I played this game for only about 15 minutes and I'm not willing to give it any more

The controls are a monstrosity and it has a forced camera angle that changes CONSTANTLY as you move around. Barely playable.

"Finding Fido: The Journey" is a weird 3D adventure game where you control a 2D texture running around static environments with some of the worst camera angle management ever to insult the entire video gaming institution. What do you do in the game? You wander around an asset flipped looking environment with a lazy cel shading filter slapped over it looking for your dog. The godawful cameras and movement stuff makes this thoroughly unpleasant to play. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 4 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

[h1]Before I played Finding Fido: The Journey, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good[/h1]

Ах как я люблю игры с фиксированными камерами и сломанным управлением... А если серьёзно, то игра немного разочаровала, так как она вызывала больше раздражения, нежели желания её пройти. С сюжетом всё просто. Максимально просто. Мы играем за человека, который потерял собаку. И, естественно, мы должны найти эту собаку, решая простенькие головоломки. Но вот с реализацией этой идеи произошли какие-то траблы. Графика действительно занимательная, а "бумажные" человечки создают свою атмосферу... Только на этом плюсы и закончились. Во-первых, что со звуком? Его просто в игре нет? Или с игрой что-то случилось? Потому что ни перезагрузка, ни переустановка, ни т.д. не помогли услышать хоть что-нибудь, хотя с другими играми всё нормально. Что-либо делать в абсолютной тишине вообще не комильфо. И зачем тогда в настройках раздел "аудио"? Во-вторых, в игре не везде есть невидимые стены, которые могли бы защитить игрока от случайных падений и т.д.. Я несколько раз перелетал через преграды и по итогу точка фиксации камеры не менялась. Персонаж мог просто исчезнуть таким образом за пределами видимости, отлично. А под конец моих отчаянных попыток не закрыть игру от странного управления, которое существует в фиксированной системе координат, игра сама меня подтолкнула её закрыть! Я просто случайно упал в какую-то дырку и всё. Бэд энд, только мне об этом не сообщают почему-то... Даже сохранения не помогли О комфорте во время прохождения идти не может, а потому у меня нет особых причин рекомендовать игру.
