A cross-platform twin-stick shooter and bullet hellish game. It's designed as a pickup game you can play in 5-10 minutes when you just wanna shoot a lot of bullets and dodge just as many. Survive as many waves as possible and pickup a few power-ups along the way (.. ahem... you'll need them).

This is a relatively simple twin-stick shooter with limited depth but fast-paced gameplay and plenty of polish for its price. PC performance was good, and stayed mostly steady at a solid 60 FPS except for a brief moment when Windows decided to remind me for the seven-thousandth time that there was an update and I should really, really install it right now. An average run took me about 5 minutes (to be fair, I'm not great at games like this, so more skilled players will probably do better). There are 5 power-ups: a triple shot, a side shot, a shield, a rotating one-time-use laser beam of doom that basically clears the current wave by itself, and a freeze item of some sort that I didn't quite get to use before dying to the one of the homing missiles that chase you down like a dog after the local mailman. The game's vibe reminds me a lot of Geometry Wars, both in terms of gameplay and in general aesthetic. It's not the type of game that you will look back upon as groundbreaking, or a game you'll remember decades down the road as one of your favorite games of all time, but it is a great little game to sit down and play when you have a few minutes to kill. For $1.99? Absolutely worth it. FULL FIRST IMPRESSIONS & GAMEPLAY HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbEC6BddTP8
Really enjoyable game - the powerups are really worth it, so you'll definitely be risking yourself to pick one up, and its sooo sweet to wreak havoc once you do! Keeps you at the edge of your seat and going back for more!

This game is really fun to play. it feels like a nostalgic style twin stick shooter game with a modern visual twist. Even though it feels like it should be better with a controller, using mouse and keyboard is pretty natural and works very well. Each level gets harder and more interesting with different types of ships or rockets. You get different boss after each 5th wave which keeps you on the edge. My favorite part is when you get a power up so you can shoot in many directions at once for maximum damage.
Great for a couple of bucks
This is a solid game for those looking for some quick cheap fun. The controls and mechanics all work well, and it does a great job at adding in new enemies and elements at optimal moments to keep the game fresh. Power-ups are done in a slightly interesting way, the fact that they are only available for a very brief window of time encourages quick decision making and further builds on the games fast paced action. It also creates a great risk vs reward opportunity that only elevates as the game session progresses. I do have some issues with it though, for one, the game map is simply too large. Most games like this opt for a single screen either without or with very limited scrolling. This is done for a reason: so that the player can easily assess the entire environment and handle the waves of enemies accordingly. Final Storm thankfully does use vector-style graphics making it easy to quickly process the environment, but even so I found that with the way the camera was programmed I ran into enemies I barely saw coming. Waves are handled decently enough, but I feel a single static play field and smaller, more abstract sprites would help. For the games setup however, it does it good job at working with it. Arrows are used to indicate approaching enemies (though I feel this clutters the playing space and ultimately speaks of the problem I mentioned), and the visuals are abstract enough to where it's easy to keep track of your ship in relation to the enemies when things get busy. Another added benefit to this approach is that the game is able to more successfully create moments of action and quiet time to prevent the player from getting burnt out, but game sessions are usually in short bursts anyway so I feel the benefits don't completely show here. That being said this is a solid little game, if you're short on time and just need a quick fix of action. This game has you covered at a good price.
It's a pretty well done twin-stick shooter for $2. If you like these sorts of games or are curious about them, it's definitely worth the pickup.
