Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 31/day in the week to Sep 19 → 52.8/day in the week after.

Add-ons
Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; PlayStation, Epic, Nintendo publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Reviews
The story is good (hello Gilgamesh!), but the game has three rather large flaws: * Classic Mode doesn't do what it says on the tin. It helps the characters automatically do some of the Street Fighter fighting whilst you're waiting to play the game, but, the way it's been implemented isn't great, and forces you to equip Auto-Unique Ability materia for the other party members to make them actually be somewhat useful. There's no way to opt out of Synergy Abilities or get your companions to use them, so, some of the sphere grid is also wasted. Also means that you're pigeonholed into playing a single character (Aeris for me), which Squaresoft thought would mean letting the enemies focus that character and cripple your ATB gauge generation. Which brings me to the next point: * Game balance is all over the show even on Normal. It's bad that some of the fights are bugged (10x Tonberry fight where some of them are glitched through walls or under floors) or outright unfair; single-character fights are the absolute worst for this (Yuffie vs two demons that immediately double Gravija you before you even get a single ATB charge). This even extends to the non-character mini-games like the rock-em-sock-em simulator. When the in-game cheats are effectively mandatory to clear content even on Easy, you know there's elements of this game that hadn't really passed proper QA at the time and still hasn't had a proper balancing pass. It really feels like the game was designed to have all characters in all fights and then someone eight weeks before release reduced the standard battle character limit to 3. Don't want to download mods to get this game back to its former glory. * Materia doesn't replicate on capping its AP as per the original game, so, even relevant materia that you do want more than a couple of (e.g. Auto-Unique Ability Materia) are completely unobtainable by design (which, is bad design). Also means that you don't want to hang onto capped materia in equipment slots if you have other materia to level which puts you in an awkward position of never really using any of the top-tier spells for the standard elemental materia until really, really-late game. Very strange decision. FF7 Revolution / Retribution / Reflection will likely be my last Squaresoft purchase for the Final Fantasy series considering they're doubling down on GenAI usage for QA. If they used the slop here, it really shows.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 20 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10.5 places towards #1, and the 2,491 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I like the new twist after having played the og a million times. 100% part 1 & 2 on PS5, 100% part 1 on steam and currently working on part 2 on steam.

It's a real pleasure to rediscover this game decades later with its beautifully refreshed visuals. Exploring the cities in this new installment is an absolute joy and captures the spirit of the original perfectly. However, there's one major downside: the open-world content tied to Chadley. It feels empty, repetitive, and lacking in creativity. Exploring the map often feels more like checking off icons than discovering meaningful content, giving it an Assassin's Creed-style formula that doesn't fit this game well. Instead of enriching the experience, it mainly stretches the playtime with busywork. On the other hand, the optional green side quests are a noticeable improvement over the previous game. They're better written, provide more meaningful character moments, and add worthwhile backstory. I just wish the open-world activities had received the same level of care and creativity.
