This game cured my mortality. This poem-shaped game begins with your character: a small, bald naked? stickman perchance. The intricate game design used collectables as an obstacle that would make the puzzle harder. A NEVER before seen feat. Absolute cinema. Unfortunately, every masterpiece has its flaws... the game sadly ends in a minor tone with a softlock in a glitched level where my character "yoinks and sploinks" and throws all of its axed shaped projectiles, rendering the level unable to be completed since there are enemies that I can't quite kill with my own bare hands. Thank you LenstroyS with the collaboration of khukhrovr for bringing this absolutely marvel of creativity and ingenuity perchance. Thou shalt recieve an award, game of the year perhaps. Oh, seems I forgot to expose the graphic situation. Unreal Engine 5 and Path Tracing can't even compare to this. Words can't simpley describe the genius behind the intricate work behind each and every pixel of the pixel art, a canvas painted by none other than god (from chinese mythology).
Scam game, fine for the first couple of levels but last stage is broken and you are blocked from progressing.
final level is designed to be impossible not worth the money and i only spent $0.79 on it
FETUS, developed by LenstroyS and published by khukhrovr, is a fast-paced indie action platformer that embraces retro arcade design while layering it with a brutal difficulty curve and minimalist storytelling. Rather than relying on cinematic presentation or elaborate narrative framing, the game focuses almost entirely on reflex-driven combat, tight movement mechanics, and survival against increasingly aggressive waves of enemies. It positions itself squarely within the lineage of punishing old-school action titles that reward repetition, memorization, and mechanical mastery. The gameplay centers around rapid 2D combat and platforming sequences set in environments loosely inspired by ancient Roman aesthetics. Players wield simple but effective weapons such as axes and spears, using them to fend off waves of legionnaires and mutated adversaries. Combat feels weighty and deliberate; every attack carries momentum, and positioning plays a crucial role in determining survival. Enemies vary in behavior, with disciplined Roman soldiers advancing methodically while grotesque mutants move unpredictably, forcing players to constantly adapt their approach. Level design emphasizes intensity over scale. Stages are relatively compact, but they are densely packed with hazards, enemies, and environmental obstacles that punish careless movement. Precision platforming is as important as combat skill, and mistimed jumps or poorly positioned attacks can quickly result in defeat. The game’s pacing is relentless, maintaining pressure from start to finish without lengthy downtime or narrative interruptions. This design choice reinforces its arcade identity, keeping players locked into short, high-stakes encounters. Visually, FETUS adopts a pixel-art style that channels the spirit of late 80s and early 90s arcade action games. Environments are constructed with detailed sprite work, blending stone ruins, banners, and gritty backdrops to evoke a rugged historical atmosphere. While the art direction remains minimalist, it is cohesive and expressive, ensuring clarity during fast-paced encounters. Character animations are straightforward but functional, prioritizing readability over flourish. The retro presentation aligns well with the game’s mechanical focus, reinforcing its homage to classic action titles. The audio design further complements this retro sensibility. A chiptune-inspired soundtrack maintains energetic momentum, and sound effects for weapon strikes and enemy attacks provide clear feedback during combat. Though not elaborate, the audio supports the fast tempo and reinforces the sense of urgency that defines each encounter. The absence of extensive voice acting or narrative exposition keeps the focus squarely on gameplay. One of the game’s most defining traits is its difficulty. FETUS does not shy away from punishing design, and players are expected to learn enemy patterns, optimize timing, and refine strategy through repeated attempts. Checkpoints are sparse, and later stages introduce more complex enemy combinations that can overwhelm unprepared players. For fans of hardcore platformers and arcade shooters, this steep challenge can be deeply rewarding. However, for those seeking gradual progression or forgiving mechanics, the intensity may feel unforgiving. Content scope is relatively limited, reflecting its indie scale. The game does not feature expansive branching paths, elaborate progression trees, or multiple gameplay modes. Instead, it delivers a focused experience built around mastering its core mechanics. Replayability stems primarily from improving performance and refining execution rather than unlocking new systems or narrative variations. Despite its modest scale, FETUS succeeds in carving out a niche identity. Its blend of Roman-inspired theming, retro pixel presentation, and demanding combat gives it a distinct flavor among indie action titles. It appeals most strongly to players who value mechanical precision and challenge over narrative depth. The game does not attempt to broaden its appeal through accessibility options or cinematic storytelling; instead, it remains committed to its lean, arcade-inspired design philosophy. Ultimately, FETUS is a compact yet intense action platformer that rewards dedication and skill. Its strengths lie in its focused combat mechanics, cohesive retro aesthetic, and uncompromising difficulty. While its limited content and punishing nature may restrict its audience, it delivers a concentrated experience for players seeking old-school challenge and high-speed, precision-driven gameplay. Rating: 6/10
Запустил FETUS — и понял, что это не игра, а симулятор моего внутреннего хаоса. 10/10, рекомендую всем, кто хочет почувствовать себя главным героем мемов!
