Survival in this three-player cooperative FPS hinges on quick thinking and seamless teamwork as you scramble to tame raging paranatural crises across a variety of unexpected locations. Improve your odds by utilizing the tools and skills that make you unique or improvising with whatever’s on hand to support your crew.

Before deploying, select your weapon and customize your Firebreaker’s Crisis Kit with specialized tools, grenades, support items, and paranatural augments... then modify them to suit your strategy and change the way you play. Experiment with different loadouts to perfect your playstyle and synergize with your team, giving you the edge to succeed in every crisis, no matter the difficulty.

I am a fan of Remedy Entertainment since 2001, when they released Max Payne. I have played every game from this gifted studio since then, the storytelling and atmosphere is where they shine. I don't play multiplayer games, so this was a first game I skipped. When it was announced that the game was basically on life support, I managed to find friends (with a shared proclivity for single player games) to play this with. We all have played Control. I agree with the general consensus. It takes circa 5-6 hours of gameplay before you reach the point where there is nothing new to do. It has the quirkiness of original Control but it is not enough to keep playing. No bugs, fast loading, no issues. Anyway, I look forward to playing their next single-player game Control Resonant.
Fun and flawed. Mission are a bit like puzzles the first time around, but lack any feeling of pacing or that there is something at stake. Gunplay is barely adequate. As a fan of the original Control, I am anticipointed (disappointed by the anticipation that this game would have been great).
A Great Opportunity, if Remedy is willing to Re-invest

With the success of Alan Wake 2, despite the lack of a Steam release as of writing, and CONTROL's successor on the near horizon, now's as good a time as ever to get invested in the Remedy-verse and their gameography. And, in the case of FBC: Firebreak, I would argue this is one of their most unique offerings with great potential, if the studio is willing to give it a future. This won't be a comprehensive review as I've only logged a single playsession but I have plans to introduce others to the game via the Friend Pass. Even after this single playsession, I can tell what this game needs is more development time. Not mechanically or technically, but in terms of fleshing out the offerings. I can imagine a dedicated grinder of this game will find themselves growing weary very quickly but if you play this in bursts or with a good rotation of friends, you'll see a longer lifespan. Weapon attachments, more playable missions, more control over your mission offerings rather than relying on the Payday style randomized offerings, a wider range of melees, secondary weapons. All of these things would help give this game more life and justify its original, steeper price tag. I understand why this game was reduced and put into maintenance but there is a great, untapped potential in this title for cross-promotion and offering a narrative outlet for tying together the wide-ranging ideas of the Remedy-verse. Offering weapon enhancements and enemies from the Alan Wake series as random alternate enemy types, maybe gangster and mercenaries that RESEMBLE those from Remedy's other games/disavowed properties. At the very least, having some tie-in cosmetics or weapons with the upcoming Control sequel or an integration where FBC players can get special rewards in that would be a great consideration. A fun experiment that can still be more than its current state.
As it's cheap and pretty much done, my thoughts are that it's pretty good for a PVE shooter, but too complex for its own good. I like it, but levels can turn pretty stressful at the end when you're dealing with so many weird things and trying to explain to people what to do makes it less fun. "Stop focusing on the radioactive pearls, get the Blackrock launcher and shoot that postbox!" is a fun thing to yell, but pretty hard to explain to people new to the universe The endless mode has been the best for introducing people, it's simple and shows that the gunplay is fun. I recommend it, if you have patience and a couple of friends to rope in
Came in after the "Final" Patch , definitely has some Major stability issues especially at higher difficulties with the game crashing / Extraction Elevator door not opening causing a frustrating mission fail. But besides that , Absolutely fun and engaging experience. The Gunplay is one of the best feeling ones i've had the pleasure of, you can tell the love poured into the animations (especially the inspects) and punchy and high-energy sound design. The Classes are also very fun and well animated , i love jumping around with the Electric Pogo-stick. It is a valid criticism that it needs more content , the classes while fun are very few with only 3 and i unlocked all 12 weapons after 16 hours of play, there are only 6 missions with a small variety of objective changes between runs. All in all , had a lovely time so far , hopefully the issues will be fixed in a future patch and if Control : Resonant is a commercial success , maybe they'll take a look back at Firebreak for more content.
It’s like deep rock galactic meets left for dead. Fun with friends. It comes with a free copy fyi . Very nice to play a multiplayer shooter with zero fomo . Well optimized for mid tier setups and if you got the power to crank the settings it’s one of the most visually impressive FPS I’ve ever seen
This game is pretty fun, when the game first released it was quite buggy, slow and unreliable. But now it's very much fun, I experience very little game breaking bugs or performance issues, the only thing that will vary your experience is how many people are actively online playing the game, and if you have any friends to play with, because otherwise you will be playing on your own for the most part. People expect this game to be like or very closely related to Control in terms of mechanics, storyline, playtime etc, but this is far from what the game is intended to be, did you enjoy mowing down waves of Hiss in the Old House as Jessie? Did you hate how your health was very precious in Control and how often you'd die if you get overrun by a little more than twenty Hiss? Then I'm sure you'll like this game because combat is actually quite fun, of course the slow grinding to get a higher rank, more abilities unlocked, and leveling up your chosen toolkit will be a bit of a hassle and realistically will restrict you to Easy to Medium jobs until you get past Level 30 or so. However. if you're playing on any difficulty higher than Medium, prepare for an endless onslaught of waves and waves of high-level Hiss enemies, whether its waves and hordes of Elevated Hiss, or regular Grunts, it will be very difficult to mow your way through them, and they will keep on spawning even if a wave just spawned, and the amount of active Hiss enemies will stack overtime and can make completing the mission impossible if you aren't strategically planning where to place your turrets, water barrels, or your speakers. Make sure you are aware of this before complaining about how hard the game is at higher difficulties, I think it is way too difficult for some people like myself, but others will find it a good challenge, just manage your expectations. I wish this game got more missions than the five we received, but endless mode is a cool feature, and the ability to invite friends to download a "friend copy" of the game to play with you, without even needing to buy one is an amazing idea, and I wish more games did things like this. This game is worth it any price level, but the best time is to get it when it is on sale.
I absolutely love this game. Everything about it is fantastic, and I've become completely addicted to it. I haven't even played the *Control* series, yet I'm still having an amazing time. That said, the game definitely needs better optimization. My PC struggles to run it smoothly. There's also a bug where, if the server desyncs, the elevator gets stuck on Floor 0 and the doors won't open—especially on the Outbreak map. Even with those issues, I can confidently say this game is incredible. It's absolutely worth playing, there's plenty of content, and it doesn't get old. It's even more fun when you play with your friends. Overall, an excellent game. Highly recommended.
I had to pay 18 dollars for this game.... and guess what? i got backend errors, unfixable errors because this game is not compatible to people in florida apparently!!! so even though i payed for it and downloaded it, i cant play it because of "backend errors". if i was even able to play this game at all i would have recommended it but because of this utter disgrace , its highly unfavorable considering you cant even play when you paid for it.
