Not Bad, But a Clunky, Disjointed Step Backward Having finished Fatal Frame / Project Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, I have incredibly mixed feelings. I really wanted to love this as much as Fatal Frame / Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water, but it just didn’t deliver the same engagement. Here is my honest breakdown: Narrative: While the overall atmosphere and theme are genuinely eerie and captivating, the storytelling felt incredibly disjointed. I found it genuinely hard to stay invested or fully grasp the narrative arc. It feels too piecemeal, making it difficult to maintain a solid grip on the plot as you progress. Gameplay & Controls: "Clunky" is the understatement of the century. The controls feel outdated and unresponsive, making basic navigation feel like a chore rather than an immersive experience. Pacing: The game moves at a sluggish, dragging pace. Maiden of Black Water kept me hooked, but Mask of the Lunar Eclipse often felt like a slow crawl that struggled to keep my attention. The Verdict: If you are a die-hard Fatal Frame completionist, you’ll appreciate the aesthetics and the classic ghost-hunting mechanics. But if you're coming straight from the smoother flow of Maiden of Black Water, prepare for a much slower, more frustrating, and ultimately less engaging ride. 6/10 — Great concept, tedious execution.

I've played every single part and honestly I love this game so much It's not super scary but it's still amazing.

Мною любимая серия игр. Еще ни одна из игр не вызывала у меня таких эмоций как игры этой серии, в них шикарно абсолютно все. Но конкретно расскажу про эту. Музыкальное сопровождение, атмосфера, дизайн персонажей (Включая призраков) просто идеальный. Бродя по узким коридорам (а иногда не слишком) в этой игре, постоянно чувствуешь себя в опасности, а в последствии будто за тобой следят. СЮЖЕТНЫЕ ПОВОРОТЫ просто завораживают своей неожиданностью, и без шуток, тут они куда круче чем в условном Maiden of black water. Перед покупкой читал мол игра медленная и все такое, лично для меня это не было проблемой, я мог спокойно вернутся с одного конца карты на другой, что бы поискать секретики:) Как будто особая мобильность не вяжется с игрой, где большинство моментов происходит в замкнутом пространстве, к тому же стоит напомнить, что играем мы за хрупких девушек (Надеюсь кое кто не обидится). За музыкальное сопровождение в эндинге, отдельный респект, реально пробило на чувства. Чувства грусти что игра кончилась. Возможно попробую пройти еще на кошмарной сложности. Кто играл в Maiden of black water, и думает брать ли эту часть - определенно ДА.

Played through in roughly 17 hours. This is peak japanese horror. The game actually puts you constantly in a mode of anxiety and tension. This is what a horror game is supposed to be. Story is a bit confusing at first but makes sense in the end. Sound and atmosphere are on point. Graphics........welll you can tell that this is a Wii port from 2008 . Some textures are really ugly and some are okay but it's not visually stunning but that's ok since the gameplay is where the game shines.
