2 Minute Video Review → https://youtu.be/3g3iMFhd-e8 Within VR games there’s a fascinating unique genre where you play the role of a merchant, smith, or cook and you fulfill orders for customers. But typically those games are either a one-trick-pony, or are shallow in scope. Fantasy Little Jobs is neither of those. In this game you have 8 jobs to fulfill to create a variety of products to sell. At your merchant stall you’ll see orders come up with specific custom needs. Like a shield of a particular shape needing the correct colors painted on. Or a magical elixir with just the right recipe. The elixir station uses spiders as an ingredient, but thankfully they don’t seem to move around. To access all the different stations you simply move a selection lever on your right or left to bring that station to you. My favorite stations are the quest maker: where you take a treasure map or monster bounty, apply a reward, and then finish it with a wax seal. And the smithing station, which has you using hammers like a whack-a-mole game where you need to hammer in the correct sequence. All of the interactions feel intuitive and satisfying, it’s a very tactile game. As you progress you’ll eventually need to handle multiple orders at the same time which will obviously increase the challenge. My only nitpick is with the archery segment, using the Index controllers the bow alignment is off by 90 degrees, so I wasn’t able to aim it properly or get a good line of sight. But I’m sure they’ll fix that. This is one of the best casual score-chasing games I’ve played. The price is $9 and it’s fun playing solo or taking turns with friends.
Extremely good for a game under $10. Gameplay is strong and intuitive. No glaring bugs, in fact it is quite forgiving with it's necessary items, as components are retracted when not in use. It really shines in how fast it can be picked up. Within minutes I was able to navigate all 8 "crafting" areas with ease and speed. When it started speeding up I was ready and already very immersed in my little shop. Great game to pick up if running a frantic little fantasy/medieval shop intrigues you. Gameplay will probably keep you interested for a couple hours, especially if you enjoy with friends.
I LOVE shop games! But in this one: • No reward for doing well. • Nothing obvious to pursue. • No reason to stay interested. Notice how none of the positive reviewers liked the game to play it more than 3 hours.
Cute little game and a nice treat, especially when it's on sale for the price of a large french fries and soda. Even my VR-incompatible girlfriend had a fun time with it; she especially enjoyed using the hammers to forge the formidable-looking weapons. That said, I had three minor issues with this title: [olist] [*] I could not successfully reassign my Valve Index controller buttons to the desired effect. This game mostly entails grabbing things. I wanted to remap that function to the Index grip pads vs. the trigger buttons. Some native Valve Index controller setup would have been appreciated. [*] There is no game menus or game menu buttons. I spent a bit of time trying to figure out which buttons to press to activate some/any sort of in game menu system. Apparently, there is none. For example, I have to use the Valve Index menu system to exit the game. [*] Similar to 2 above, you can only toggle sound and music on or off; there is no ability to adjust the levels with a slider. [/olist] Overall, a very charming and creative game experience. I wish more independent developers created games such as this.
This game is incredible! There is enough variation in its repetitive nature to make it both super fun and addicting. Got on the game to try it out and went for 23 minutes straight before I finally took a break. For a while I thought I was racing a clock, like in most games, but there isn't an overall level timer that I know of. The progression seems to be by number of items created, and each item has its own timer which gets progressively more challenging. I bought it on sale, but really, I would pay full price for this one. The games looks and feels great. Each of the items you can make have different steps to creation and you can switch seamless between them, using the rooms function. I'm really into simulation and usually look for cooking sims, but this is much better than any cooking sim I've played on VR. This really is a great concept and executed well. I love it. This game needs more hype!
Best of the VR Maker genre
this game is so criminally underrated it breaks my heart a little each little job you have to do is so much fun you get to be a brewer, weapons smith, hunter, witch, and a chef all in one game all under a limited amount of time for a good some of money please buy this game, the dev deserves the coins
This game has become one of my favorite vr show off games. people love the experiance and even non gamers like my mom pick it up fast and enjoy the feeling of presence and minigames. More people need to try this game. It truely is a hidden gem.
+Fun Job/Time Management game +Hectic +Creative +Price For Content -Customers are just a floating box showing what the customer wants. 3/5 Good little time management / Customer Service game where you create a bunch of fantasy things like swords, potions, meat and other things. For it's price, it's a nice little hectic, but repetitive game.
