Does Valve do anything to moderate AI generated games they publish on Steam? The "dev" claims no in game content was created by AI. But anyone working with Generative AI knows right out of the gate, that this game's mechanics, and all of its assets, are output from Gen AI. The UI sucks, because it was created by AI. There are no settings, because it was created by UI, I'm sure there's a lot more wrong with this game, because it was created by AI. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the positive reviews are AI.
After about 5 hours, I think I've played enough to leave an Early Access review. Family Office Simulator is exactly what it advertises. Running the company and making decisions has been surprisingly addictive, and I've had a great time with it so far. It's refreshing to play an EA title that actually delivers on its store page. The developer also seems active and responsive, which gives me confidence that the game will keep improving over time. Right now, it's already very playable. The downsides? The price feels a little high for an Early Access game, but I'm fine with it as long as updates continue to come out regularly. There are a few bugs, but nothing that's been game-breaking for me. There's also no real tutorial, though the game eases you into the mechanics well enough that you can figure things out. Overall: I'd recommend it if the concept interests you. It's already a fun experience, and if the developer keeps supporting it with regular updates, I think it'll only get better. Looking forward to seeing where this game goes.

I was curious. After 5 hours I am more curious than ever, while learning. Great game.
I enjoy it. A recommendation to the DEV: when I spend CAPEX to upgrade a facility, remove that option and either grey it out or replace it with a more expensive upgrade in the future. Plus, when I purchase a property why not add a negotiation with the current owner to do the upgrades ahead of time. Obviously, this would increase the price and extend the time frame, but that adds realism to the game. Thanks.
Product is a little bare bones at the moment, but the small dev team appears to be responsive and highly motivated. The minimalist UI you see in the pictures is what you get. This isn't an arcade game. This has the potential to become hands down THE most in-depth & realistic investment simulator on the market. If you love financial/economic simulation games (or happen to be a financial pro IRL), you WANT to be in this EA tossing ideas at the dev team. None of us are 1%ers, but wouldn't you like to play how serious money works?
Family Office Simulator is a really great and in-depth simulation that covers many different aspects of property management. I played for around five hours, and after that time the game feels more or less complete. However, there are still some smaller bugs. In the main menu, the icons sometimes shift too far upward. Also, for individual rented units—apartments or houses—it is possible to perform upgrades an unlimited number of times. This allows players to earn unlimited money and significantly affects the game’s balance. Another feature that is noticeably missing is an automatic rent-adjustment system. Once you own several thousand units, manually increasing rent is no longer practical.
I ended up getting a refund and regretting the almost 2 hours I spent playing this game. Let me preface this with the fact that I have degrees in accounting and finance and a masters degree in Financial Investigation, so I am coming from this with more of an academic eye also. They said : "This is not just a clicker or idle tycoon. It is a strategy simulation about the machinery behind wealth: capital, leverage, cash flow, reputation, governance, succession, and time." What it was : An idle point and click where you make some choices but ultimately, still a point a click with very little consequence other than people leaving your building. They said : "Review cap rates, NOI, financing needs, debt service, and cash required to close. Negotiate offers with counter-party logic" What it was : Yes you can review all the capital and financing needs, HOWEVER, you can't access this because you don't know how much money you will need in the negotiation stage, when you then go back to negotiate, the property is gone or they don't want to work with you. It's very clunky and doesn't really work. The whole game, simulation, UI is just, dull and lack lustre. There is no timings, so you can work for as long as you want on a given day, but it would be more appropriate to call this a real estate simulator and basic at best - which is sad given the amount of AI that went into this game. You aren't really running a family office - there is no one piping up to tell you - hey you shouldn't invest in this, I want my money back or anything. The emails and correspondence support IN GAME (it makes sense that there is a mail system) have no purpose, you can reply, but there is no point because it does nothing to impact your game - this would be better if it was point click options, to give you actual consequences of those decisions. They said: "Manage philanthropy through a Legacy Foundation and Donor-Advised Fund" I couldn't find this ANYWHERE. They said: "Manage payroll, benefits, and quarterly payroll taxes" What happened: This kind of works, but also, not at the same time. They said: "Respond to staff-generated decisions that affect rent, expenses, vendors, tenants, and office performance" What happened : This really didn't work well in the game. You couldn't evict anyone, there was actually little point to all of this part. Overall does it have potential - maybe - but I would say this game needs another at least year of development.
If your expecting bells and whistles and fancy graphics. You might want to pass. If your expecting to fight against the clock on making choices or get rich quick. Again probably want to pass. But if numbers are you gig. This might be the one. I usually dont go for games like this. But there is something about it that scratches an itch I didnt know was there.
Great game!
This is a very good game all around. Very functional. There can be various annoyances but I am optimistic for them to be fixed while in Early Access. Teaches a lot about renting property and the financials thereof.
