Fallout New Vegas is the best and first Fallout game I've ever played, and also one of the best RPGs ever made. Even after all these years, I can still easily open it up and finish it again and again. Even if you're completely bored, a few mods can make the game feel brand new again. Although it has some bugs and issues due to being rushed, its story, gameplay, and characters draw you in; it's a very deep game. If you've never played it, I definitely recommend giving it a try.
Crashes are a problem but doing the saves right and quicksaving often makes the game very playable on vanilla and the game is the best fallout in terms of core gameplay very worth the time, dungeon design can be ass at times though ngl

I knew I wasn't going to be into this game.. I still got it because of the hype, incase I would've given this game the rare fps exception of me liking it. I can't like or get into games like these, they aren't my thing. However I think I am in the minority. Most people will like this unlike me. Though, its a nitpick but I don't like old/outdated aesthetics like this, nor do I like the post apocalyptic aesthetic. Im just not the right audience, but like im sure the game is fine. (with mods though I think)

My first Fallout game ever and I think the first game I ever finished? This is some good stuff, man. I couldn't stop playing it the moment I picked it up. Its funny, its dark at times, I love the freedom you have in this game, you really can just do your own ♥♥♥♥ and make it your story. I think I really love that about this game, is that it really feels like you're in this world, you're making your own decisions, and you're truly shaping your own story. The characters in this game... The people you come across on your journey... There's just so much to love about them, and also about this world. At the beginning, you're just a revengeful courier who's searching for the man that shot and nearly killed you - then it became so much more. You start to learn more about this world, what's in it, the history, the people inside it, and its just so much fun to uncover. Definitely recommend! So good!

Awesome Game. One of the Top 10 games ever made. Disclaimer: I played Fallout 4 before this game, and Fallout 3 was my first Fallout game. The interaction between factions in this is excellent, so is the interaction between companions and factions, which really is the one way this game outshines Fallout 4. The story in this is great too. I just wish that you could play after you beat the main story like you can in Fallout 4, but Obsidian had a tight schedule for getting this game out, so there wasn't any time for that. That's the most fun aspect of RPGs in my opinion as then you can see the ramifications of your choices firsthand instead of being told them in a post-game narrative. This makes you have to play the DLCs before beating the base game, which in my opinion is backwards, which is a way Fallout 4 outshines this game. The best reason Fallout New Vegas is better than Fallout 4 IMO is there are not any procedurally generated repeat quests (aka: "Another Settlement needs your help", or "I know the location of another pre-war artifact"), which was the worst part of Fallout 4 because it's time consuming and boring. The way the Brotherhood of Steel is treated in this game also makes me a little sad. Siding with the Brotherhood of Steel in Fallout 4 is a major plot aspect, but in Fallout New Vegas, they are a weak and defeated faction. This isn't a bad thing as it's part of the story, but it just makes me sad. Overall, this is a great game. Fallout New Vegas does some things better than Fallout 4, but Fallout 4 does many things better than Fallout New Vegas, so i really can't say which is best, nor does that matter because they are both incredible games.
