Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.57/day in the week to Jul 30 → 3.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Fallout 1 was the prototype for many future game designs, including survival and RPG elements. It was also the forerunner of the Fallout lore, which evolved into a juggernaut. Thus, as a historic piece in gaming media, it's great. As a game, it is immensely disappointing.
Flows

Plenty of replayability, both in RPG choices and your build. I did my final, most optimized playthrough with an unarmed build, and I pretty much dominated most of the game with ease.
As a female character you can just "flirt" your way out of most troublesome situations. Points for realism.
Very active modding scene. I suggest checking out Warlockracy videos for some of its highlights (great youtuber). This is a review just for Fallout 1 though, not its mods.
The voice acting and 3d faces are great.
Gore. And it looks glorious.
Somewhat tactical combat... But not really.

Flaws

It is ugly as sin. The whole game is a mixture of grey and brown, and because you are pixel-hunting, you are squeezing your eyes the entire time. The gore death animations are some of the very few good spriteworks in the game.
The UI is very impractical (for example, in the end-game you have to use roughly 7-8 Stimpacks to fully heal. I have to open the inventory, drag 1 of them to the off-hand weapon, close the inventory, switch to the offhand weapon and use it. SEVEN-EIGHT TIMES.)
The game desperately needs a journal of some kind. The pipboy notes for your quests are extremely lacking. You will need a walkthrough for this.
It suffers from adventure-game logic, where things have an extremely specific solution even though they should have multiples. This becomes VERY apparent in the final location, the mutant base, with its force-fields (possible to hard-lock yourself there btw). It's where I quit the game out of sheer lack of interest and accumulated exhaustion, despite being extremely overpowered.
On that note, grinding is very much encouraged. And I hate grinding.
Critical failures are fun in small doses. When every single one of my 3 brotherhood paladin companions manages to hit me with a minigun, I am wondering why I even brought the bastards along.
The extremely bleak tone of the graphics is heavily contrasted with the extremely immature humor of the descriptions, if you actually pay attention to that kind of thing. It is very off-putting.
A lot of systems are completely unutilized and pointless to have. I am almost certain the trap detection stat only (barely) matters for a single room in the entire game, while doctor and first aid objectively have no reason to exist.
Fallout 1 is ugly to look at, impractical and, in general, simply boring. The good gore and nice face-dialogues (what few there are of them) are not enough to make this enjoyable. Thumbs down for purchase, watch Warlockracy's videos on it instead.

Classic
Happy I got around to playing it.. As an avid Skyrim addict I always preferred it to Fallout, with the exception of New Vegas. This one, while dated in gameplay and etc. has just as much love put into it as NV and it shows. I'm excited for 2 and happy to finally get around to more Fallout lore. If you can get past the age, a beautiful time. Up there with NV. Crashes like crazy though. And this comes from the time where you read the game manual 1st. "You're a hero.. and that's why you have to leave..."
如果你喜欢辐射,那么一定要耐下心来玩一玩。如果你喜欢CRPG,那更要玩一玩。除了一些操作过于老旧,需要适应一下外,没有缺点。
