Fallout® 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed game that took RPG'ing out of the dungeons and into a dynamic, apocalyptic retro-future. It's been 80 long years since your ancestors trod across the wastelands.

Because I am SUCK at making a good character build, I died and stopped playing I then used an online preset and man... THIS IS SUCH A PEAK GAME!!!!
peak fiction not as good as new vegas but still holds up 9.6/10
Great game!
This is one of my all-time favourite games and has all the things Fallout did great: memorable and fun characters, gory violence and weird humor with proper amount of political commentary. Lots of pop culture references. Later Fallout games built everything on this and few improved on it (maybe New Vegas being an exception). Simply brilliant. Highly recommended!
The content of Fallout 2—its story, characters, and lore—seems terrific, but the controls have aged extremely poorly. A keyboard works better than a controller, but the experience is still prohibitively clunky. In the end, I gave up on the game. I'll probably try more modern isometric RPGs with a similar style instead, such as Wasteland 3.
fantastic game with alot of reactivity and fun experimentation. killing myron with an rpg accidently and having the gameworld react to it was very funny. fighting in a casino with a team of prostitutes to help me whilst getting liquidated with energy weapons was so funny i had to take a break. all sorts of corners to get lost in. Don't look up anything and make sure you get a fix for the game. other than that vanilla. have fun!!

Pretty retro to be playing this in 2026 but it was a shock to me on how good it is.
