Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 29 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The empire is dying. Survival is victory. Seize control of an ailing empire, clinging to echoes of its former glory. Unlike traditional grand strategy games of expansion and conquest, Fall of an Empire challenges you to try to survive in an empire on the brink of collapse. Face invading barbarian hordes, manage internal revolts, and engage in relentless political intrigue.
Your rule will not last forever. How long can you defy history and halt its decline?
Play as one of many characters in an empire in decline.
Perhaps you have seized power in a violent coup, crowning yourself Emperor of a crumbling realm.
Perhaps you rule a province and you will make your way to the top as the world collapses around you.
Millions await your orders, but your legions are stretched thin, your coffers are empty, and your provinces are rife with unrest.
It is up to you to defy history and survive through iron will and brilliant strategy.
Manage a living world filled with unique, simulated characters - senators, generals, governors, and spies. Each character has their own evolving traits, personal ambitions, and loyalties.
Exploit rivalries, uncover conspiracies, and forge fragile alliances to keep your throne. Reward your loyalists with power or eliminate threats in cold blood.
Exercise dominion over hundreds of settlements and millions of subjects across a sprawling, dynamic map. Build fortifications, manage resources and oversee simulated convoy supply lines on the map itself, allowing you to orchestrate raids and bolster your coffers. Watch cities visibly grow… or burn.
Navigate changing seasons that test your logistics, from famine-inducing winters to bountiful harvests in the springs.

Dynamic storylines take the whole world into account. When your capital burns, your court knows. When your loyal general grows old and bitter, his betrayal will make sense. No two playthroughs tell the same story.
Engage in a unique hybrid battle system combining real-time strategy with timed turn-based decision-making.
Direct your armies across multiple fronts simultaneously, then zoom into key battles to make the tactical calls that turn the tide.
The empire is destined to fall, but your legacy is measured by how long your lineage can last.
Allocate dwindling resources, maintain fragile order, and respond to ever-shifting threats in a brutal test of strategic endurance.
Survival through cunning strategy
Deep character-driven gameplay
An expansive living world

The fate of millions rests in your hands. How long can you hold back the Fall of an Empire?

Reviews
It has some promise, but the economy is unpolished in a way that really kills my immersion: - You start with large stockpiles and high decay rates; the optimum gameplay seems to be to sell massive quantities of resources before unpausing. - Contrary to the image of a decaying, once-proud empire, even rich imperial provinces start with extremely little infrastructure and poor finances that can be dramatically improved with a couple years of construction. I shouldn't be building aqueducts with the barbarians on the borders! Legibility is also very poor; there are a lot of options but it's hard to find them and make sense of what they actually do. It's an ambitious game with considerable potential, but I can't really recommend actually trying to play it right now.
After reading some other reviews I was a little skeptical of the performance and bugs, but really sinking my teeth into this game was one of the best decisions I've recently made! The game runs very well on my potato pc and after 8 hours I've yet to run into any meaningful bugs. Honestly very impressed with the quality especially since I found out that a single person made this game, I absolutely love how in depth the experience is and the fact that it doesn't hold my hand, all in all I can only recommend this and I can't wait to have some free time again to delve back in!

I like that it is RTwP, visually is nice, zooming in and out in the world map is well done. But it's micro-managing is tediously boring. So many menues & sub-menues. Tutorial tells you to do stuff, just to progress. I don't have a clue why I HAVE TO push for a client, or propose marriage to whomever popped up in the tutorial, or why I have to create a Personal Guard instead of just building/recruiting military units in the cities. Why complicate things that should not be complex? This game tries to do too much, and fails in the simplest things. Sorry, but no.
This game as the potential to be the best 4xish grand strategy game, i really love the bureaucratic mechanic but wish it could get a little expanded upon but i really love the idea and mechanic
Just finished the tutorial and.... im hooked honestly. This game for me is a perfect mixture of roman history, total war and crusader kings. I hope the devs continue to add love to this game and make it even better than it is
Good game
More content at launch that Imperator. Very dedicated dev who's actively replying to comments and implementing ideas. It's a very ambitious project and it's not all the way there yet but the future looks bright and I've been enjoying this more than some recent AAA releases.
Great overall, but the negotiation/peace system is very underdeveloped which seems like it should be an easy fix. you arent capable of sending the same kinds of offers the ai can send.
