I see this title is on sale, so I thought I'd update my review. The description does not make it clear that the game runs in DOSBox. Hell, it recommends Win 10 and a 1.8 GHz CPU. This is the original game and does not need that much power. I don't have a working flight stick at the moment, and was hoping the game would run with the Steam Controller. I messed around for a bit, but didn't get it working satisfactorily. You may have some luck with Steam Controller with the following instructions. Thanks kalirion. For this game, the Amiga version was vastly superior. If I going to have to mess around with an emulator, I'll go for Amiga. On Steam, I was looking for a quick and easy way to replay a game from my youth, without having to put a lot of effort into getting it running. So, for that reason, I don't recommend this title on Steam. If you haven't played Falcon and/or don't mind messing around with DOSBox through Steam, by all means, get this game. It was a defining title in the flight sim genre. Original review below. I played the Amiga version when it was new. I was interested to see Falcon titles available on Steam. I purchased on Steam so that I could use my Steam Controller. However, the game actually launches and runs in DOSBox. The Steam Controller stick is not recognized as a joystick and cannot be used. I tried remapping the stick to the arrow keys, but the game is unplayable with keyboard input due to key ghosting - you can't bank and pull up at the same time. Nostalgia value, yes, however, not worth it to me, if it's run through DOSBox with no controller support.

An iconic, classic flight sim. Steam version. Unplayable. Too fast and no command list. Easy enough for the publisher to fix though... --/o\-- SPEED --/o\-- It needs to run at the correct speed. The DOSBOX clock is set at 3000hz, which may look right on paper, but the sim runs at a fantastically unplayable tempo. I get it, they calculated that about 40fps would be nice... but the sim was designed to run at somewhere between 2-5 fps, from memory (hey, it was 30 years ago!) --/o\-- MANUAL --/o\-- Manuals and key commands need to be included (they are not). Falcon has about 50 commands, so, good luck at guessing those! // And the price... $9.95? I bought MiG-29 Fulcrum, a sophisticated 3DFX 1998 sim, at Steam for $3.95. Aaa.. yes. I have had and played this game when I was 8 year old. Really needs to have a good PC to play this game sooo many years ago and I got killed a lot. As a dosbox game that released on 1988 It had amazing graphics and details at the time but it wasn't that big of hit because of tough control, and high spec recommendation. So 28 years later I have just got this game on steam and I have tried to replay it. YEs.. I still suck at this but it's much more managable. You really need to actually like retro graphics to be able to enjoy this game at this day and age. Control is still really iffy but takes a bit practice and you will be fine. I finished 3 out of 12 mission in 1 hour of game time but I really wasn't able to get too much enjoyment out of this because the graphics and game play is old. Maybe i will come back one day and finish the rest of the mission.(i doubt it). 6/10.. only recommend for retro gamer. Game is quite outdated.

Является по сути тем же самым Falcon только с Миг-29 вместо Миг-21 в качестве противников, а также более богатой цветовой гаммой (16 цветов против 4) Воздушный Бой рекомендую вести на 100 процентной тяге MIL (форсаж по сути нужен только для взлета здесь), иногда нажимая B для тормоза, и на скорости около 450. ------------------------------------------------------------- Кароче, игра написана очень криво, так как в 1988 году, и у нее изменчивая скорость работы, в частности от скорости процессора зависит скорость набора высоты и радиус виража вашего самолета + противники начинают летать как бешенные. На современных ПК, в досбоксе нужно выставить скорость как у 286 16mhz, (на i7 4790k около 2000 циклов), и после запуска игры нажать 1 раз F-8 (это внутриигровая тормозилка). Тоесть игра для нормальной работы ДОЛЖНА выдавать около 10 кадров в секунду!!! Этот сим был написан в эпоху слабых ПК, и был так вот оптимизирован под них. Если игра выдает 20+ кадров в секунду она становится неиграбельной ибо скорость перемещения противников по карте намертво прикручено к фпс Кароче, ставьте 10-15 кадров в секунду, жмите один раз F8 и Только тогда хоть как то можно играть, иначе, самолет набирает высоту за 5 секунд в 60 тыс футов. это неправильно. Рекомендую играть или за Colonel или за lt.Colonel, все остальные уровни сложности урезают реализм. Управление в игре простое + и - -выбор оружия на экране вооружения. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- +/- тяга двигателя, / - вкл/выкл форсажа, <> - переключение ступеней форсажа от 1 до 5 W - наземные тормоза B - воздушные тормоза, G - шасси F - закрылки Backspace смена оружия воздух-земля Enter смена оружия воздух-воздух, пробел - стрельба С - переключение с радара на карту. insert/delete - выброс теловых ловушек и дипольных отражателей. E - включение РЭБ T - выбор цели A - автопилот, ; - переключение точек маршрута R - вкл/выкл радара F5 и F6 - режимы работы радара F7 включение режима посадки 4-5-6-7-8 - переключение видов. 3 - основной вид от 1го лица. CTRL + J - сброс центрального бака СTRL + K - сброс всех подвесок CTRL + E - катапульта CTRL + B - плеер повторов -------------------------------

年代久远的额模拟飞行游戏 没有看过飞行手册的话可能你连飞都飞不起来 画面以当前来看非常的落后，虽然是有开发时间的原因 但既然把它拿到了steam上卖，那就应该要以一款收费游戏的水平来审视：实在无法愉快玩耍，也许只能作为收藏用

Well, its to fast, iam sure aswell there are sounds missing!...no Manual no Reference Card...Dont buy this Game. Its Outdated not because its old. Its outdated cause the Devs Rere REreleased this game in a bad shape.
