Nicely put together. I like how you can see objects but cannot collect them until you know what to do with them.
The format of this HOG is all jacked up. You can't just click on items that you see on the screen right away. You have to find a puzzle or something that requires an item, click on that first, then a separate box pops up and then you can start finding the particular items for that one item you need, and this is completely out of whack from all other HOG's I have played. Made the game very irritating and I quit after an hour.
One of the better HOG's I have played in some time. Had a slight spin on the HOG with finding what needed to be done and given a list of objects to locate. Some items were difficult to find but not in a tricky way - just from location placement. Put in a few extra hours with this one as I kept repeating going for a couple of the achievement only to find they incorporated the bonus game. So fair warning the complete all without skipping achievements include those in the bonus game. Would definitely recommend this to any HOG players.
It is a a very easy and ok HO game, but nothing more. What sticks out is the mechanic that you have to find always objects hidden directly in the scene itself. Unfortunately you often see these objects directly, but are not allowed to collect them as you have not yet triggered the riddle around them.
Fairy Tale Mysteries 2: The Beanstalk, developed by Gogii Games and published by Artifex Mundi, continues the studio’s long-running tradition of crafting enchanting yet accessible hidden-object adventures rooted in classic folklore. Drawing inspiration from the timeless story of Jack and the Beanstalk, the game reimagines the familiar fable into an epic fantasy mystery. Rather than retelling the tale directly, it uses the myth as a springboard for a larger narrative about magic, betrayal, and the struggle between mortals and giants. Players step into the role of an investigator unraveling the truth behind the beanstalk’s origin and the dark forces manipulating it. The setup is simple enough for casual players but intriguing enough to sustain curiosity as the player journeys through a series of magical realms, each with its own guardian, artifacts, and puzzles to uncover. From the outset, the game impresses with its strong sense of atmosphere. Every scene is filled with detailed artwork that captures the dreamlike quality of a fairy tale world brought to life. The lush hand-painted backgrounds, adorned with glowing crystals, ancient forests, and ethereal ruins, give each location a distinctive identity. Gogii Games has always excelled in visual design, and this entry is no exception—its blend of soft colors and fantastical architecture helps immerse players in the mythic tone of the story. Though the environments are largely static, the sheer richness of their detail gives the illusion of vibrancy, making exploration a visual treat. The character designs and animations are serviceable rather than outstanding, but they fit well with the whimsical tone, while the subtle music and sound effects reinforce the sense of wonder without overwhelming the scenes. Voice acting varies in quality, with some performances adding warmth to the story and others sounding stiff, though the game allows players to mute dialogue entirely if they prefer a quieter, more contemplative experience. The gameplay structure stays true to Artifex Mundi’s signature formula: a balance between hidden-object puzzles, mini-games, and adventure-style item collection. Hidden-object scenes are scattered throughout the game, encouraging players to search detailed locations for cleverly concealed items. These scenes are designed to be fair and accessible, offering logical placements rather than frustrating obscurity. In addition to traditional hidden-object tasks, the game introduces fragmented-object mechanics, where the player must find and assemble pieces of a tool or artifact. This approach adds variety and helps maintain engagement across the game’s chapters. The mini-games that punctuate the adventure are diverse, ranging from simple pattern recognition and logic puzzles to mechanical contraptions and magical sigil alignments. While none are particularly difficult, they maintain a satisfying rhythm, ensuring that the player never feels bogged down or confused. Progression through the story involves a mix of exploration and puzzle-solving across multiple worlds. Each realm is distinct in tone and theme, from enchanted gardens to stormy castles, and the inclusion of a fast-travel map keeps backtracking from becoming tedious. The user interface is clean and intuitive, with visual cues highlighting interactive objects and a hint system for players who prefer a more relaxed experience. Collectibles are scattered throughout the game, adding an optional layer for completionists, though finding them all does not yield major rewards beyond personal satisfaction. The overall flow of the game encourages curiosity and careful observation rather than pressure or punishment, making it a particularly inviting choice for those new to the genre. Narratively, Fairy Tale Mysteries 2 blends fantasy and investigation, weaving a story about magical corruption and the human cost of power. The script draws lightly from the Brothers Grimm tradition, populating the story with guardians, cursed relics, and morally ambiguous characters who blur the line between good and evil. While the plot occasionally leans on predictable beats and familiar tropes, it maintains a cohesive sense of purpose throughout. The pacing is steady, with dialogue sequences and cutscenes serving primarily as connective tissue between gameplay segments. Though the writing lacks the emotional depth or literary flair of more ambitious titles, it succeeds in evoking the atmosphere of a myth retold for modern audiences, where the moral lessons are refracted through mystery and magic rather than simple good-versus-evil dichotomies. Where the game shines most is in its accessibility and sense of flow. Everything about the design encourages relaxation and immersion: puzzles are solvable without frustration, the navigation is smooth, and the art direction provides a continuous stream of visual charm. Even though seasoned players might wish for a higher difficulty level or more intricate hidden-object scenes, the game’s measured approach makes it an ideal entry point for those seeking a light, story-driven adventure. The inclusion of a bonus chapter adds a modest but satisfying extension to the main narrative, offering closure to the overarching mystery while introducing a few new puzzles to keep players engaged. It’s not a revolutionary addition, but it demonstrates the developer’s commitment to giving players value and completeness. In the end, Fairy Tale Mysteries 2: The Beanstalk is not a reinvention of the hidden-object genre, but it is a polished and charming example of why that genre continues to endure. It provides a well-crafted blend of fantasy storytelling, accessible puzzle design, and gentle world-building that captures the spirit of childhood tales without condescending to the player. The artistry and care that Gogii Games brings to its environments, combined with Artifex Mundi’s reliable production standards, result in a game that feels both familiar and comforting. For players seeking an atmospheric escape filled with magic, mystery, and the soft glow of fairy-tale nostalgia, The Beanstalk offers an enjoyable and beautifully realized experience that rewards patience and curiosity more than skill or reflex. Another great HOG, possibly one of my favourites. This one is a bit different in that the main game play is around finding parts of objects within the main locations you travel to, and piecing those together to complete the object and then the action to progress. It's a bit strange when you spot these items in the location (or a zoomed in location) but can't click on them yet to gather them because you haven't yet triggered the need to be searching for them, but it's still a fun mechanic regardless. I enjoyed the incorporation of the fairy tale, and the scene and character art was absolutely beautiful. The story was interesting the whole way through, including the great bonus chapter, and it's an easy 100% achievements as long as you don't use hints or skip mini games. Plenty of good hidden object scenes and the mini games weren't too difficult. Still a relatively short HOG (2.5-3 hours) and a bit of backtracking so use the helpful map, but great fun overall.
i love all the differeny levals and finding objecs
very good
