This game is one of those old HOGs that aged really horribly. The plot is virtually non-existent which makes the game boring and predictable. Plus it has this weird mechanic where you must pick up MANY items from every single scene, but you can't actually pick anything up until you find where it needs to go. The whole experience was a mix of frustrating and boring.
A journey through magical worlds to find the castle of the last of the giants, face him using your wits, magic spells & the protection of the guardians. Fairy Tale Mysteries 2: The Beanstalk by Developer Gogii Games, Publisher Artifex Mundi This is a beautifully done fairy tale of Jack and the Beanstalk with a new twist. Yes, there is an evil giant and plenty of charming characters that are delightful to meet. With lots of colorful graphics, an engaging story and great voice acting. Has various hidden object scenes with several mini-games mixed in for variety. Even includes a bonus chapter for more story telling delight. Has 41 collectibles to find, but you don't get any achievements for finding them all. The only thing I didn't really like much, was you can't pick up items now, that you know you will need later on. Not until they introduce that part of the story to you. Also has lots of backtracking. But it's not too bad on that part with a fast tract map to get you there quickly. Even has a journal to round out the story telling. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3315168296 Solve 83 unique tasks related to 15 hidden object scenes. Explore 52 locations in 5 diverse worlds. Find 400 items hidden in various locations. With 29 mini-games thrown in for good measure. Lots to keep you busy and engaged with the story telling on this one. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3315168397 Pros: * Journal * Fast Tract Map * Bonus Chapter * Trading Cards * Family Sharing * 11 Achievements * 41 Collectibles * No Issues using Windows 11 Cons: None https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3316051817 Rating: 8.5/10 Final Thoughts: Intriguing fairy tale with several colorful hidden object scenes and mini-games for your enjoyment. Even includes a bonus chapter, achievements and trading cards. Pleasant way to spend a couple days with a delightful story. Welp... It looks cool and has some neat stuff, but the puzzles are baby level easy! Maybe this one was intended more for kids? If I remember correctly... The first game is rather challenging... Guess they wanted a different audience to play their game this time around. Also, this game is different from a regular H.O.G/First game. You find an area... Then whatever item it wants? You have to find pieces of that item. The problem? Some items are extremely hard to see in the environment and by the time you make it to third world... You may be falling asleep. Sigh. Hidden objects kept me awake and two guys didn't look so bad... So I got through it. Then the Bonus game came up AND WOAH! It was FUN! I was like... YEAH!!! This is what I expected and immediately woke up. The mini games were still a breeze though... Oh well. Uh and also? This game doesn't give a damn about you getting Collectibles. SINCE WHEN?! Then why am I going to collect them?! I did so accidentally anyway!!! I don't really want to fail this game... It's rather simple and can waste you nearly three hours... It's not THAT bad... But if you do play it? Only the Bonus Game is really fun... Because it reminds me of the first game and how it should've been...! *nod nod*
Волшебные бобы дают жёсткий трип, не пробуйте.
Absolutely terrible hidden object game, one of the worst i played (and i have played about two dozens before), in fact I think both Fairy tale games is among the bottom 5 of worst HOG i played, Mediocre plot, mostly pretty mediocre graphics (even for "older" HO game standards). Other than the regular HO and puzzles that are staple of the genre, this game also tries to spice things upp and adds mini hidden object games where you need to find various arbitrary objects to make a inventory item out of them that you can use to solve a inventory puzzle, and while it might sound like a good idea (i remember seeing it in another game before, and didn't mid it that much that time), here it's mostly anoyong and removes the inventory puzzles completely since you can only cliick on the parts you need when you already found where to use the completed item, so it's just pixel hunting and a ton of backtracking and artificial padding of the gameplay. Only bright side is, I got it in a bundle, and after selling the cards that dropped i probably paid like 0,5€ so I can't say i felt ripped off, but this is a bad game, Artifex Mundi have released so many better titles. If you want a fairy tale HOG, pick up the Grim Legends games, they are soo much better in every aspect.
Absolutely love Artifex Mundi games (including the first in this series), but wow this one is ruined by the weird mechanics. Instead of the usual inventory, you have sub-categories where you have to collect multiple pieces of each item rather than just finding the item itself. It's the most infuriating game they've made that's for sure, and the only bad game I've found by them. I just hope they never think this stupid mechanic is a good idea again.
It is a pretty average Artifex Mundi hidden object game.
The format of this HOG is all jacked up. You can't just click on items that you see on the screen right away. You have to find a puzzle or something that requires an item, click on that first, then a separate box pops up and then you can start finding the particular items for that one item you need, and this is completely out of whack from all other HOG's I have played. Made the game very irritating and I quit after an hour.
Nicely put together. I like how you can see objects but cannot collect them until you know what to do with them.
This was okay. The game worked fine, I liked the setting, there were some really good/interesting puzzles, and it was all around fine. The one frustrating part was having to pick up pieces of objects you need, sometimes scattered wildly far apart, instead of the objects themselves. You know that part of every other hidden object game, where you have to find four boards to fix a ladder or some such, and you have to find/complete a puzzle for every one of those individual boards? That, but now also do that for every single piece of your knife, lantern, broom, ect, ect. It gets frustrating when you don't realize that you have to actually go to a different section of the game (not another room, a COMPLETELY different part of the game) before you can complete some objects.
