Great game, simple, but with a layer of depth I wasn't expecting, the only negative is there aren't more characters, if the creator made DLC, or another game like this, I'd buy it. solid 8/10 game, tons of fun to be had
Pretty good little Fairy Tail fan game. Individual runs are pretty quick to get through but there's a lot of content to explore and unlock as you go. Main cast is unlocked as you play through the main story with other characters being unlocked post game.
TL;DR It's worth the price, just don't expect a 10/10 game, and no you don't have to be a Fairy Tail fan to enjoy this game Pros Concept is unique, with magic chain system, and is actually fun Each characters have their own gimmicks Near endless replayability, as expected of roguelites Runs on a potato Cons Enemies don't have much variety, few are unique but most are basically "haha big damage goes brr" All status effects do the EXACT same thing, like why tf would they make Burn, Shock, Razorwind and Laceration do the same thing, like literally down to the description? At this point, just rename them DoT and call it a day, they could've made each statuses unique Magic chain, although cool, is very restrictive, most if not all the time you can only select very specific cards to be the trigger (like it has to cost 1 AP), this limits the builds you can make significantly Verdict 8/10, fun for a while until it gets stale due to the cons mentioned, but for its price, you can't complain much, it's a solid game
its so peak...
very good
Bored and disappointed. Good bones, bad execution. System seems fun at first, but horribly inefficient UI for a card game causing tedious slow gameplay. It makes the party system annoying. Icons for cards aren't intelligent enough to help memorize them, aka by color coding and other hints that imply certain effects. To make it worse, what should be a fun system where you plan a party (3 different decks) is a total pain. You must build and save each deck by playing a 1-character game, on the easiest floor, for every character, before you can team up. Not only is that annoying in general, but this means you have to awkwardly tiptoe around the fact each character has to solo to make their deck when in reality you are going to end up a party later and should be able to plan for synergy. And then congrats, you have 1 deck per character. If you want a different deck or to adjust it, you have to again run the beginning of the game and save that deck for later use. Random problems: - Horribly easy. I am good at card games, but I'm 8 hours in and have not ONCE felt like I was in danger. Even though it's probably hard later, the badly designed UI and lack of QOL features would make the min-maxing needed very annoying. - Occasional terrible communication about effects or how stuff works. Was there a weak translation team maybe? - Annoying flashing every second of battle that lights up the room. This pisses my dog off and it also pisses me off. There is no option to reduce it. - Cannot speed up unnecessarily slow flashy attack animations. - Unusual disparity in pixel art quality. Backgrounds are meh, characters are meh, but then the enemies and bosses suddenly obviously took 10x as much effort.
