Reviews
Faeria, developed by Abrakam Entertainment SA and published by Versus Evil, is a distinctive blend of collectible card game design and turn-based board strategy that sets itself apart from nearly every other title in the genre. Rather than focusing purely on card synergies and resource curves, Faeria introduces a living battlefield where terrain placement, movement, and spatial control are just as important as the cards in your hand. From the outset, the game establishes itself as something more thoughtful and deliberate than a typical digital card battler, rewarding long-term planning and positional awareness over brute-force deck power. At the heart of Faeria is its hex-based board, which begins each match as an empty expanse of water. Players gradually shape this battlefield by placing land tiles each turn, choosing from different terrain types such as plains, forests, deserts, mountains, and lakes. These terrain choices directly affect which creatures and structures can be played, as many cards require specific land types to exist before they can be summoned. This system transforms every match into a layered strategic puzzle, where players must consider not only what to play, but where and when to expand their territory. Poor terrain decisions early on can limit options later, while clever land placement can enable powerful synergies and restrict an opponent’s movement. Combat and resource management are deeply intertwined with positioning. Faeria, the game’s primary resource, is generated each turn and supplemented by wells scattered across the board, which provide additional income when creatures stand nearby. This creates constant tension between advancing aggressively to threaten the enemy avatar and holding key positions to maintain resource superiority. Creatures must physically traverse the board to deal damage, making path control, blocking, and terrain denial legitimate tactics. Unlike many card games where damage happens instantly through spells or effects, Faeria often turns combat into a slow, tactical dance where each step forward matters. Deck building in Faeria emphasizes flexibility and synergy rather than sheer volume of cards. With relatively small deck sizes, every inclusion feels meaningful, and the interaction between terrain requirements and card effects encourages players to think holistically about their strategy. Whether focusing on creature-heavy aggression, spell-based control, or mobility and positioning tricks, successful decks are those that can adapt to changing board states. The game’s design ensures that matches are rarely decided by luck alone; thoughtful sequencing and spatial foresight tend to outweigh fortunate draws. For solo-focused players, Faeria offers a surprisingly robust suite of content. Tutorials, challenges, and puzzle modes gradually introduce mechanics while encouraging creative problem-solving. These puzzles are particularly effective at teaching advanced concepts, often presenting scenarios that require precise positioning and clever use of limited resources. The Pandora mode, a roguelike-style draft experience, adds another layer of replayability by forcing players to adapt to unpredictable card pools and terrain constraints, testing strategic fundamentals rather than reliance on perfected decks. Multiplayer is where Faeria’s systems truly shine, as human opponents bring unpredictability and psychological depth to terrain placement and movement. Ranked and casual matches reward players who can read their opponent’s intentions and anticipate future expansions of the board. Because the battlefield is shared and mutable, every decision influences both players, creating a sense of constant interaction even during defensive turns. Matches often feel like extended duels of positioning rather than explosive bursts of action, which gives victories a satisfying sense of earned mastery. Visually, Faeria adopts a clean, vibrant fantasy style that complements its strategic focus. The animated board feels alive as terrain spreads outward, and card art is colorful and expressive without overwhelming the interface. Sound design is understated but effective, reinforcing the calm, thoughtful pace of play rather than pushing constant excitement. The presentation supports the game’s identity as a cerebral strategy experience rather than a fast-paced spectacle. Faeria is not without its challenges. The learning curve can be demanding, especially for players accustomed to more streamlined card games where positioning plays a minimal role. Understanding how terrain decisions ripple through future turns takes time, and early mistakes can feel punishing until players fully grasp the system. Additionally, its emphasis on strategic depth over spectacle means it may not appeal to those seeking quick, flashy matches or heavy narrative elements. Overall, Faeria stands as one of the most inventive digital card games available on Steam, offering a rare fusion of board control and deck construction that feels genuinely fresh. Its emphasis on spatial strategy, deliberate pacing, and meaningful decision-making gives it remarkable longevity for players willing to invest the time to master its mechanics. For fans of thoughtful strategy games who enjoy planning several turns ahead and shaping the battlefield as much as their deck, Faeria delivers a rich and deeply rewarding experience that continues to stand out in a crowded genre. Every market we collect.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 5 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Abandonware. A real shame because this was like someone looked at Hearthstone and said "what if we made it fun?"

Was a very good game when it came to life. Sadly turned into a money grab soon. Hurts too see initially good gameplay go to waste.
The story is pretty unengaging, and the AI is otherwise pretty poor when the deck (heh) isn't massively stacked against you. I don't think the singleplayer for this game is worth the price; this would be a pretty sick game if there was still an online scene to speak of. Unfortunately, one day the servers will shut down, and this always-online game will lose even its SP content, making it a truly dead game. Until then, I enjoyed solving some puzzles, but I wouldn't recommend Faeria in 2023.
For anyone who hesitate to buy this game, please let me tell you something about it. Good News : Good as Hearth Stone. Bad News : Dead as Stone Hearth.
One of the best digital CCGs i've ever played when it was new. Sadly a couple of years ago they released an expansion where they added 'wild' or 'chromatic' or whatever it's called cards (cards that do require special lands but not a specific colour). Those were unhealthy for the game but what's even worse is, that they started adding cards with 'discover' abilities (cards that let you chose and create other cards in your hand) and cramped up the amount of random effects on cards. It's not the first TCG to have fallen to these kind of effects (Hearthstone is probably the worst offender), but nonetheless that ruined this great game. It's still decent and absolutely fair, so check it out. It can also be amazing if you only duel with a friend and you both stick to the old cards. TL;DR - still a good card game with amazing potential that got ruined (for me) by it's expansion.
I really wanted to like this game but it's just so unbalanced. It's got beautiful art, really cool level design and an interesting game mechanic. Sadly a lot of the later game fights with bosses are overpowered and it becomes frustrating to play. After not playing for awhile then trying to again I can see why I stopped playing as the fights aren't challenging only unbalanced. Which is sad since I also enjoyed their other game Roguebook which I personally feel is a lot more enjoyable. Would be happy to play this more if they did some adjustments but for now it is not worth the time.
