UPDATE: I have no clue if they fixed the problem but I no longer face a camera issue when playing. Rewriting my review and making video after I play the game properly. Recently played the game but the camera was broke. It was fixed too close to my character and you can't control it. For some reason the camera is fixed to close and low on my character and makes it impossible to control comfortably to get past the FIRST PART OF THE GAME. Until they fix it [they haven't updated since April 2023] I would skip this game and play another indie souls-like game. Checking the discussions page it seems the developer doesn't believe the people facing this issue which is sad. Maybe one day it'll get fixed but hold off till then. [ITS WORKING]
Has potential but IMO this game is not playable. In the hour of play time I had 3 crashes. Also couldn't pick up the key in the very first room, this had me starting the game over 4 times before character would actually pick up the key to open the door. Game is very dark which makes it hard to see the environment and enemies. Combat for me was sluggish. Ill come back to this game in a few months to see if any changes have been made.

Looks good I guess, but runs bad and it's shallow, this is expected from EA game. Nothing special atm. I'll keep an eye on it.
I can't recommend this game in current stage. 99% of GPU usage and my CPU is around 20-25%.... ( 2070 Super playing on Mid Settings 1080p, CPU Ryzen 7 3800x I can run Cyberpunk with more than 60 FPS and less GPU usage than this game ) Fog, fog FOG! Seriously the entire screen is covered in MILK. I can barely see 2 meters in front of me... Clunky animations and broken hitboxes. Enemies have faster combos and no stamina, so enjoy eating the damage. ...I liked the Dark Tone and atmosphere of the game, there is a companion system, leveling up, active skills and variety of loot. There is something here, it reminded me a bit of Dragon Age but with modern rough "combat"... It's way too early in development and honestly I've been burned by so many Early Access games that I don't have any confidence they can finish it within a year or two. For now will put it on a wishlist and re-visit it in a year or so.
The game has potential but is in no condition to be worth 25 dollars. Maybe 5 at best at the time of this review. TLDR; The game looks good, but doesn't really feel good Pros: - I like the look and environment. Gives DS2 vibes - Enemy design and moveset So basically just the look, everything else is pretty bad Cons: - Estus healing like 10% of the lifebar (why even give me 3 if its that worthless?) - The worst tutorial/directions I've ever seen. I was just walking around clueless and didn't even know what the bonfire of this game looked like until 30 minutes in - The character's movement and attacks feels really anime-ish, but I don't think it really fits the vibe of the game - Attack jank: Character commits to combos after clicking the button once, and attacks bounce off the walls while enemy's don't - Bugs/Softlock: I think I was softlocked, I made it to the second bonfire and couldn't go anywhere after that. I had to glitch/parkour my way over a wall (which triggerred a boss cutscene), then the boss killed me in 1 hit after I grinded 20 levels in the starting area
This is definitely an early access game. That being said, the game play is smooth and the few graphical glitches I have found so far have been hilarious (Un-equip your helmet xD) but in no way are they game breaking. The story is intriguing and the voice acting is on par with AAA titles. I have already spent more time playing this game than I did any of the other souls like games I have tried. So far I have defeated two of the sacrifices after a few deaths and learning their combat patterns. I can't wait to come back and play some more!
Saw this game on reddit and even tho I don't have much experience with souls-like I thought I give it a try because it looked extremely promising. So far i'm really enjoying the game, and for an early access indie game it's already really polished! You can tell a lot of love has been put into it and I can't wait to see how far this game will go with the future updates! :)
Dont bother playing with mouse and keyboard there is no settings for controls and even playing with the controler u can only move camer up and down while moving stick to the sides. for me its unplayable right now
Fade has the potential to be more then the sum of it's parts, the visuals are far more interesting then most screen shots make them appear, and the combat is already better then half the souls likes in my library. The combination of Fabled and dark souls aesthetic makes you feel like you are in a world on the edge, something that I have not gotten from a souls game before, you can really feel the passion the dev has for this game. Voice acting is good and while this is obviously a proof of concept build the jank is more then manageable. I have played all three classes (and the hidden "none" class) and the only one that need work is the magic user, the rouge and worrier are both easy to get into and capable. I would totally recommend supporting this game. the finished product is going to be awesome.
