Eydigard is one of the more memorable RPGs I’ve played in a while. It’s set in Northern Norway just after the Black Death, and you’re dropped into a quiet, open world that feels both haunting and beautiful. There’s this constant sense of emptiness — not in a bad way, but in a way that makes you slow down and actually take in your surroundings.
A more Old-School RPG, I enjoyed the shapeshifting mechanic. A lot of fun! Its absolutely worth it!
It seems it could be an interesting game. But I'd like to play with a controller and it's impossible. The in-game controller support is atrocious (reaaly bad). Besides, I didn't found any way to turn off the in-game controller support (so I could use steam to configure the controller).
The trailers here don't accurately display what the graphics look like entirely. The graphics aren't there yet; least not in my play through and I have a couple hours in so far. Game seems good from what I've played. I love that I can transform into different animals. Would love to see this game take off more! Even as an EA game I think it's good; it's just the sound track makes me super sleepy! Definitely a coop game more than a solo type but you can do both if you want too. Way more wandering around than adventuring from what I've seen so far. If you have friends who want to get it; get it you'll have fun but solo adventure this seems kinda dry at times and far from what most consider this an rpg. But hopefully it gets more traction and more can be seen in the game. I'm excited to see what else I'll learn in my travels within this game.
First hour was very promising, seems like the devs are doing a great job of updating and patching the game, and looking forward to the coming months with even more content!
Very fun so far :) Better with friends. I will write a more indepth review when ive finished the game :)
The game, contrary to one of the most negative reviews, is NOT woke. It is also NOT Valheim, it is more similar to Gedonia. There are male and female sexes at character creation AND the subtypes of background you have available change on the basis of your sex and ethnic group (Norse or Sami). I believe both male and female can be farmer background but only female can be forager etc. The male vs female created character models have different hair styles and faces available to them. Update: I really am beginning to enjoy the RPG focused elements. The characters each tell a lot of information about the setting and lore. There are faction systems, various cultures within the game (Sami, Norse, German), and several progression trees to learn skills for your various forms. I'd say the single most annoying thing about the game is walking makes your character feel/look very slow. Also note: To understand what to do you have to READ what the NPCs say. This is not the easy-mode, modern 'RPG' with a bunch of highlights on the map. This review was mainly to correct the claims of the inaccurate and hypercritical one posted by a different Steam user in October 2025.
Love the concept of an animal based (kinda) RPG! :D Giving this a thumbs up and look forward to roaming with my lynx mates in the months to come. Still some kinks to sort out, but I have already downloaded three patches in 3 days so I guess you are working hard to make it happen!
I enjoyed it :D
