~ Way too short, takes about 10 minutes to beat the game and then there is no reason to replay it. ~ too easy, there is no challenge, you can just mindlessly beat the game by spamming attack ~ Cool art and nice animation
Disclaimer: I was given a streamkey for the game. It pains me to give a negative review for any game. But for this game i just can't justify the price of 7 dollars. It took me literally 15 minutes to beat the entire game and then there was nothing else to do other than a few achievements. The game itself is pretty neat. However it reminds me of the flash games which can be found all over the net. I am a HUGE fan of these small games and i have several in my library (like Epic Battle Fantasy, Knightmare tower and Bloons 5) however they all have something to keep you playing. If this game added a bit of customization or goals to go towards then that would be a huge step in the right direction. but as it stands now its play once and then never again.
Very reminicent of classic Rampage, but instead you're a DRAGON. Live out all your Trogdor fantasies.
Dragon Rage is an enjoyable, albeit short, bout of destruction and mayhem. Play as an angry, chubby little dragon and destroy a mountain-top village.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlQGrjwZLBU .Story. You are one angry dragon. Why? Why not. As your path of destruction spreads, the king of the village you’re tearing asunder will send out different units to stop you until, finally, His Majesty himself appears in an attempt to thwart you. Let them try. .Gameplay. The keys are fully rebindable and, though the starting configuration is a little strange, it works. You use the left and right arrow keys to move, the down arrow key to eat, Z to do a ground pound that’s good for pushing enemies away, X to jump, and C to breathe fire. It’s through these combinations of draconic talents that you’ll lay waste to the peaceful village before you. Meting out destruction will net you points while eating will keep your angry little friend alive as well as fill his Rampage meter. Once you fill it all the way, the game really shines because, for the brief moment you’re in Rampage Mode, you feel like a real dragon. You’re able to dash, jump, and breathe fire without restriction and it feels very, very satisfying to lay waste to buildings while dashing about and lighting a trail behind you. Unfortunately, Rampage ends rather quickly and you’ll have to begin filling the meter anew by feasting on the kingdom’s residents. You can also lay eggs, though I haven’t figured out exactly what adds to your egg meter. Once it’s filled, your dragon will lay a single egg and you have to protect it until it hatches. Once it hatches, you’ll have a little buddy who will attack everything within its reach until it is slain. You can hatch several eggs per wave, though after the third it seems impossible to fill the meter again. As you destroy more buildings, the king begins to send out tougher units in a sort of story-like fashion. Dialogue is presented regarding the new unit that’s being introduced and it’s oftentimes quite amusing. The game continues on like this until you destroy 100 buildings and then it’s off to the next stage to do it all over again. The stages vary slightly in background and the units that are introduced seem to be re-colourings of units you see in the first stage--one of three, as of the most recent patch (August 13th). .Atmosphere. The music of Dragon Rage is perfectly conductive for destruction. The effects that punctuate your rampage—the crunch of buildings caving in beneath your mighty feet; the whoosh! of air as you leap over the heads of those foolish enough to try and stop you; the crackle of flames as they leave your belly in brightly coloured gouts—are all very satisfying as well. The cutesy graphics give a light-hearted feel to your warpath. I mean, really, how seriously can you take that face? The jumping, fire-breathing, and lunging-to-eat animations all look great. My favourite effect is when you enter Rampage mode and the screen is awash with scarlet while everything else is reduced to black silhouettes. .Longevity. If you’ve been reading other reviews, you’ll note that the game can take anywhere from 10-15 minutes to complete. Yes, there are now three stages with varying difficulty, but they do nothing to add to the base gameplay. There’s nothing to unlock and no real reason to keep playing except for those of us who enjoy hunting achievements. I can’t agree with the asking price of 6.99 due to the rather small amount of content. .Pros and Cons.

Destruction is satisfying. Very satisfying. Run, peasants, run!
An adorable art style.
Power ups and RAMPAGE mode make you feel like a total beast if only for a little while.
The dev is active and promises more content. I’ll update this review as he updates the game.
No real incentive to keep playing. It would be great if the dev patched in unlockables like different dragons and/or included an upgrade system.
Repetitive gameplay.
A steep asking price for such a simple concept.
No online leaderboards. Your only opposition is yourself, so the replay value relies heavily on your willingness to challenge yourself.
After about five minutes, you’ve seen all the game has to offer.
.Bottom Line. I can recommend Dragon Rage as a game because it’s a fun way to blow off some steam. I cannot, however, stand by the asking price. I’d say anything around 1-3 dollars would be fair for the amount of content it currently offers. If you’re looking for a meaty game to sink your time into, this title isn’t for you. If you’re the type to revisit a title just to tool around and destroy things, Dragon Rage will offer you up a satisfying, bite-sized experience.
Dragon rage is a game similar to the classic Rampage series. You’re a dragon and all you have to do is cause chaos. The game has very cure art-style and some nice music. The game however is way too short, and I am talking like 20 minutes to complete the game short. It is fun though but I think the developer could’ve added a few more levels.
Graphics and sound:
The graphics looks pretty awesome with a cartoony art-style. The screen looks sharp and crisp. The dragon and people are super cute as well. In the sound department there isn’t much, the background track is okay, nothing too fancy. When you go in rage mode the track changes into metal-type music. The sound effects are pretty nice too.
Gameplay:
Basically you’re a dragon who is on rampage mode. You have to destroy a certain number of buildings and kill anyone who gets in the way, including knights, archers even the royal family itself. You can do certain types of moves including dashing, which will knock anyone in your way like a bowling ball. You can jump, stomp or breath fire down on the people. You also get many bonuses spawning and collecting them will give you food, points etc. You have a health/hunger meter, whenever the dragon breath fire on people or stomp them it takes this bar down and to fill it up again you have to eat people. Throughout the game you have to manage your eating and destroying at the same time. When your health bar gets full you go into rage mode. In this mode the background gets all red and you can only see your dragon’s silhouette. You can dash infinitely in this mode and jump really high and breath fire faster too. Basically you can cause much more mayhem with this rage mode. Once in this mode the health bar starts depleting again and once the bar is empty you go back to the regular mode. There’s also an egg meter which when it fills up the dragon will lay an egg. You must protect the egg for a certain time and dragon babies will hatch from the eggs. These little monsters will aid you in destroying everything that exists. When you start off no one is attacking you. Once you start causing chaos the king will send knights to kill you and if they can’t stop you, archers will arrive. Later the king sends catapults, magicians, horse riding knights and many other types of warriors try to stop you. They even build walls so the dragon cannot move freely. the princess and queen come at a certain point in the game. They give defense bonuses to their armies. Once you destroy the king and 100 buildings, the game is over and you have won. A short gameplay clip can be found below: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=730123256
Conclusion:
The game itself if pretty fun. Think of it as a stress reliever. If you’re angry with some work stuff or real life, you can sit down and take your frustration down on the poor people of the kingdom. $7 is kind of steep though for this short of a game so you can always wait for a bigger sale.
It's a good game for what it is so far, hope it gets updated and adds lots more of cool features in the future.
In Dragon Rage our goal is to destroy the whole village and its residents, which can be reached after slaying the king. We can kill in several ways: to burn with flames from our mouth, to trample, to crush by dashing, to consume which regenerates life and allows you to achieve a state of fury called "RAMPAGE!!". This boost makes our beast extreemly powerful for a short time. The trick is to keep our combo (a wave of destrucion) - we should constantly attack and devout humans to go with the flow as well as to increase the point multiplier, because this way leads to beat the highest final score. This game reminds me a series of Rampage and Godzilla franchise. The difference is that the game developed by one dev studio Bulletproof Outlaws is faster, more chaotic and very short, basically like a demo or a game in the early access but it doesn't look like the final version. Last but not least, Dragon Rage is too easy - I finished it at the first attempt without knowledge about the mechanics, tactics and so on and so for. I played around 10 minutes to do it. Well, one way or another, I like the design, music, sound, gameplay and I think that it's quite cool production, but in my opinion it's not worth 7 euros as long as (a lot of!) additional content will be created and implemented, which has already been promised by developer. If you want to support the game creator, you can buy it right now, otherwise you should wait for the price reduction. By the way, Dragon Rage is (also) a title of game developed and published by 3DO on PlayStation 2, so I think that Bulletproof Outlaws should change the name of its production. Thanks for reading my short review.
this game is fun but it only take 20 mins to bit this game ... way too short
This game isn't anything major, I'll be honest. In fact, I'll preface this by saying you should probably buy it on sale, as its not a very big game for its regular $6.99 price. HOWEVER For what it's worth, this game is pretty fun. Its VERY fast-paced and exciting while still taking some amount of strategy to complete. You can't just rampage about and hope to win. You have to think about what to do and where to attack next, and in a hurry. It's quite a challenge that makes you think fast, literally. Plus I love the music during Rampage. It rocks! Will it keep you distracted for hours? Probably not. Is it fun? Absolutely!
