Regardless of what the original game is/was like, this is a very poor version of it. The controller support is insufficient- certain buttons don't work (like the pause button), controls can't be remapped (and the default layout sucks), and there's no option to adjust analogue stick sensitivity (which matters because it's way too responsive). The game also doesn't run smoothly. It runs so fast that it starts to look like a slideshow when you're moving around the track. There is an option to adjust game speed, but in order to adjust it you have to exit and re-enter the game. Oh, and exiting the game is kinda buggy and leaves a big black square on the desktop. Another issue is that, without an instruction manual, there's nothing to explain the different stats between the drivers. That needed to be added into the game, but it wasn't. Also, the game doesn't go up to 4K if that matters to you. Nightdive Studios need to get their hands on this game and give it a proper update. Until then, don't bother.
Coming from an XG3 fan. This ♥♥♥♥ is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trash dawg. The weapons are useless, the feel of moving is SUPER janky, and the audio is poorly mixed.
Одна из лучших игр детства. Работает на Современном ПК без танцев с бубной. Нажал играть и играешь как в детстве. Если у вас не получилось это сделать, у меня плохие новости о вашем умственном развитии.
Keyboard working in the menu but not in race / controller working in race but not in the menu (and too much sensible)
this game needs a remake with online multiplayer and other things. this was always one of my FAVORITE n64 games and if this series EVER got a reboot id be the first in line to pre-order. The game itself is a lot of fun, a little difficult, but enjoyable to the point of infinite replayablility. if somehow the n64 recorded hours mine on this version would be so much higher because i still play it on the n64 more than i play it on the pc. i hope whoever owns this IP now will one day release a remake/remaster or just revive the series in some way.
It's fine and quite fun, if it wasn't for some absolutely garbage-tier levels. Don't know how it was on Nintendo 64, but can definitely agree with other reviewers that failing a level is as easy as taking a wrong turn for a tiny moment.
well I can understand why you rte-release somehting like Doom 64 on PC/Steam, but I don't understand why do that with such a crappy game like this, maybe back in N64 time it was graphically impressive or something, but it sure isn't now and the game itself is crap/boring. [strike]Also widescreen resolution is available but is not working properly (I only get a part of the screen displayed if I switch to widescreen resolution)[/strike] it actually works, switch to a 4:3 resolution then back to 16:9 and it was ok One positive thing though, my X-Box Wireless controller works - BUT not in the game menus... Will probably never play/install it again after I get all the card drops...
Господи, как же хорошо то а!!!! Драм, визуал и главное ДИНАМИКА. Я думал мне в детстве она просто Запомнилась такой динамичной, а она РЕАЛЬНО такая динамичная. one love <3
I used to hate this game because I hated the way the default controls were because 1. When I entered a race with the controls set to xbox, the game ignored all controller inputs and I had to close the game by pressing that stop button and 2. I couldn't get used to the keyboard controls. but when I used steam input translation to map my logitech game controller keys to keyboard keys, I then got the hang of the game easily because of the controller controls. I now regret hating this game. Sorry for hating you XG2 :(
Don't buy. Bad port and abandoned. Also, CONSOLE port with bad control support - chef's kiss.
