❌ problemas técnicos e gameplay simples
Tive muito problemas técnicos antes de conseguir rodar. O quê mais me incomodou:

It's a 2D game, but it goes well with beer...

Жена сказала, что если на этом обзоре наберётся 10 лайков и 5 наград, то она подарит ящик пива. Мужики, выручайте!
The game has an interesting idea, but the gameplay itself is not fun. Can't really point out any specific flaw, I just don't enjoy it. Sorry :(
Платформер того времени, веселый и сейчас, но графически и стилически не прошел проверку временем.
Хорошо...
Explodemon is an energetic and chaotic love letter to classic 16-bit platformers, developed by Curve Studios and published by Curve Games. At its core, the game revolves around a single, absurdly entertaining concept: the protagonist can explode at will, using bursts of self-destruction to jump, attack, and solve puzzles. This explosive mechanic defines nearly every aspect of the experience, transforming what could have been a standard platformer into something much more kinetic and unpredictable. Every movement becomes an exercise in balancing precision and destruction, as the player must constantly weigh the consequences of unleashing their power in environments filled with enemies, hazards, and fragile architecture. The result is an experience that feels both nostalgic and original, embracing the frenetic spirit of old-school design while experimenting with modern physics-based gameplay. The game’s story leans into parody and self-awareness, presenting itself as a humorous send-up of poorly translated Japanese action games from the 1990s. Explodemon himself is portrayed as a hot-headed, melodramatic hero who means well but often causes more harm than good. His dialogue is full of awkward phrasing, exaggerated proclamations, and endearingly nonsensical lines that feel ripped straight out of an era when localization was an afterthought. This deliberate campiness sets the tone for the entire adventure. While the plot—centering on an alien invasion and Explodemon’s chaotic attempt to save his world—is far from deep, it serves its purpose as a tongue-in-cheek backdrop for the game’s explosive antics. The humor doesn’t always land, but its self-referential charm makes the world feel distinctive and full of personality. From a gameplay perspective, Explodemon thrives on the interplay between momentum and timing. Each of its dozen levels challenges the player to harness the explosion ability in creative ways, using the shockwave to launch across gaps, ricochet off walls, or destroy barriers. The design rewards experimentation, encouraging players to discover new tricks and chain explosions to achieve stylish sequences of destruction. At its best, this system evokes the satisfying flow of mastering a complex movement mechanic, much like speedrunning an older platformer. The puzzles that require careful use of explosion physics are particularly engaging, pushing the player to think about spatial relationships and trajectory in dynamic ways. Yet this same ambition occasionally undermines the experience; the physics system can be inconsistent, and certain puzzles or jumps demand more precision than the controls comfortably allow. When the movement clicks, the game feels fluid and rewarding, but moments of jank and unpredictability can break that rhythm just as quickly. Visually, Explodemon embraces a bright, comic-book aesthetic that mirrors its exaggerated tone. The environments are rendered in a clean, 2.5D style, with bold color palettes and sharp outlines that make the action easy to follow. Character animations are expressive, and explosions fill the screen with flashes of light and flying debris, lending every detonation a satisfying sense of impact. Cutscenes unfold through stylized panels, adding to the sense that the player is moving through a Saturday-morning cartoon. While the art direction captures a nostalgic charm, it occasionally exposes the limitations of the game’s indie budget. Certain textures and effects appear dated, and the overall presentation, while lively, lacks the polish of higher-profile titles from the same era. Still, the visual identity is cohesive and distinctive enough to reinforce the game’s chaotic spirit. Unfortunately, the technical side of Explodemon, particularly on PC, leaves much to be desired. Players have reported frequent issues ranging from frame rate stutters and missing graphical options to audio glitches and unreliable controller support. The port feels like a direct transplant of the console version with minimal optimization, which diminishes the experience for those expecting smoother performance or more flexible configuration options. Sound design, too, is uneven—some explosions resonate with a satisfying punch, while others are muffled or poorly balanced against the music and voice effects. These flaws do not render the game unplayable, but they contribute to an overall sense of roughness that keeps it from reaching the level of refinement its design ideas deserve. Despite these issues, Explodemon’s pacing and structure offer a rewarding sense of progression. The levels grow steadily more complex, introducing new environmental hazards and enemy types that push the explosion mechanic in different directions. Collectibles hidden throughout each stage encourage replayability and precision, as achieving high scores and perfect rankings requires mastering the timing and efficiency of each detonation. For players driven by challenge and completion, this aspect adds meaningful depth. However, for those seeking variety, the formula can become repetitive, as the same patterns of blasting through obstacles and juggling enemies reappear throughout the campaign. The game attempts to sustain engagement with score-based incentives and speedrun potential, but its limited number of mechanics means that the excitement may wane before the credits roll. The soundtrack complements the explosive gameplay with energetic electronic beats and rapid tempos that keep the adrenaline flowing. It evokes the feeling of classic arcade soundtracks, punctuated by bursts of chaotic sound effects that heighten the tension during combat or platforming sequences. However, the lack of musical variety means that extended sessions can make the soundscape feel repetitive, much like the gameplay itself. The audio direction reinforces the game’s overall identity—fun, loud, and over-the-top—but occasionally suffers from uneven mixing that undermines the immersion. In the end, Explodemon stands as a fascinating experiment in design and tone. It combines an inventive core mechanic with a clear affection for the games that inspired it, delivering an experience that is both playful and challenging. Its flaws—uneven polish, inconsistent physics, and limited technical finesse—are impossible to ignore, yet there is an undeniable charm in its ambition and chaotic energy. For players who appreciate the spirit of classic action platformers and can tolerate a bit of roughness in exchange for creativity, Explodemon offers a uniquely explosive ride. It may not reach the heights of genre-defining contemporaries, but it captures something that many modern games often miss: the joy of pure, unpredictable fun born from experimentation and excess. Rating: 6/10
