GOOD
Game is good, music is wonderful (and buggy), story is good, but short. Some quests are buggy as hell and thats the reason you cant complete them. Many sidequests dont give any imapct to the story. Everything you do doesnt give the feeling to change something. You can build your city, but i dont know why. At the end it doesnt matter i guess??? The limited time story is not great at all. Maybe thats why i had the feeling the story is short, because i rush everything as fast as i can. Maybe thats why i miss some part of the story i guess. I dont know. Combat is sometimes really weird. 75% of the time i start always 2nd, no matter what i do. The start of the fight is weird to. My tank is 80% behind all of my compagnions and my archer 80% at the front when battle start? And you cant change the position of your chars in the menu. Some Skills i never used because they are complete useless and some are extreme broken. You will find them pretty fast. This game is great but feel very uncompleted.

Every market we collect.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 8 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

TL;DR A Viking’s life før me? Wøt I liked - A decent viking støry: nø BERSERKERS, dragøns, gøds, just søme Middle Ages raiders; - Stats: a huge number øf interactiøns is tied tø yøur stats; - "Chøices matter" — while the majør events wøn't change there're a bunch øf variøus fun øutcømes før different quests and interactiøns; - The mercenaries (følløwers whøm yøu create yøurself) are nøt deaf and dumb, they sømetimes chirp in; - Quite fun quests: løng-løst relatives, raids, murder før hire, beatdøwns øn behalf øf cuckølded husbands, burning churches, burning villages, pig thefts, grave røbbing, punching øut kids, slave trade and escaped slave catching; - Quite decent cømbat animatiøns: there's søme bløød and a bit øf dismemberment, cløse quarter stabbings løøk pretty grim; - Okaish cømbat system: there're søme skills, a cøuple øf weapøn types, dual wielding, ranged cømbat, "magic". Wøt I disliked - The cømbat mechanics is thread-bare; - All encøunters (regardless øf the gøals) følløw the same scheme; - Nø explanatiøns før møst øf the mechanics; - Nønlethal damage is a gimmick: in møst fights it døesn't matter if yøu have it øn ør øff; - Randøm events aren't really a thing: apart frøm a few (and I mean few) text events there's nøthing either øn the campaign map ør the camp screen; - The team relatiønship/mørale mechanic, affected by yøur dialøgue chøices, cøuld be a great asset tø... if nøt før øne small thing: yøu have 5 følløwers all with different traits - sø nø matter what røle yøu chøøse tø røleplay a significant part øf yøur "hird" will permanently be unhappy; - I døn't get why yøu have tø acquire resøurces by "raiding" every barrel and crate yøu cøme acrøss; - Søme bugs and brøken quests. Tø sum it all up, while by I can’t say that Expeditiøns: Viking is bad, it fails tø rise anywhere abøve average, and that’s a cømpliment. P.S. I know how to use ø correctly
Disappointing experience.
Kinda rough in some spots but overall enjoyable
The game has a certain charm and is certainly unique. But, and yes, unfortunately, but...it can't compete with other games of its type. You get the feeling that the dynamics and options are very basic. The gameplay is dedicated to the structure and plot. What's most annoying is the resource acquisition, which is incredibly illogical. I like the game and don't want to give it a thumbs down. At the end of the day, it's unfortunately only mediocre, and there are certainly better options.
I want to preface this by saying I got the game for 3$ on sale, so keep that in mind in terms of value for the money: (also it is 10+ years old at this point so ya know, keep that in mind too) The good: The combat, when it works, is very fun for being an older game. The story is well written and easy to engage with. Too often now the consequences of a piece of media is world or universe ending. I appreciate that in this story the scope is small. Yes, you're meeting kings and druids, but the end goal of all of this is just to save your home from being taken over by your neighbor. The maps are pretty and it is a fun setting to be in. It was enough to have me wanting more, at least for a little while. The bad: When the combat doesn't work, which is more often than not, it can be very frustrating. It's hard to figure out lines of sight for archers. I frequently thought I had set up my archers to hit an enemy only to be told they aren't in the line of sight. And then the very next turn the AI archers would hit me from the same spot. VERY frequently the enemies would get to move first and I would lose one or two team members before I even got a chance to move. In general this game lacks alot of balancing between roles and in fights. There is also notably no respec for skill points so once you spend them, they're done. This is mainly a problem because you make your character before you know anything about your other party members, or who will join later. So you may spend points trying to level a camp skill only to have someone join at a higher level than you making it a waste. The Ugly: The camera is downright awful, between trying to find an angle where you can see what it is you're doing and it zooming all over the place to see an action it was enough to drive you crazy. You can definitely tell its a 10 plus year old game. lots of quality of life things are missing, meaning you spend alot of time in menus or going back and forth on the map trying to figure things out. Again for 3$ I can't complain that much especially given the games age. It was a fun experience and if you enjoyed expeditions rome, or need something else to play between playthroughs of baldurs gate it's worth it on sale.
Started out with Rome on Game Pass and came back to Steam to buy Rome and Vikings. Love these kinds of turn based RPGs where there's a great passion to make the games. One of my favorite aspects of the game is the soundtrack. Some of the cities have just amazing music when you enter them it really takes on a life of its own.
