Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Sep 15 → 0.25/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Expeditions: Samurai is an expansive roleplaying game set in our world during real historical events, with an intricate, branching story and a vibrant cast of characters. At every turn, you will be faced with life-or-death choices that will challenge your resolve.
Create the character you want to be and choose your own path through history. Even the smallest of your decisions can have far-reaching consequences for yourself, your crew, and - in many cases - the people of Japan.

In the year 1600, the navigator William Adams arrived in Japan. He would soon become the first European granted the title of "Samurai".
In Expeditions: Samurai, William Adams never leaves England; you will beat Adams to the punch and sail to Japan aboard the Dutch frigate De Albatros.
You arrive in Japan as the newly elected leader of a motley crew of privateers and are quickly swept up in an ongoing civil war that is nearing its climax. Navigate the politics, intrigue, and drama of feudal Japan as you and your crew catch the attention of powerful warlords whose struggle will determine the future of the nation.

Every crewmate has their own story to uncover - if you manage to earn their trust. Build your relationship with each companion into a meaningful friendship, a lifelong rivalry, or possibly even a new love.

Outnumbered but never outgunned, engage your enemies on your own terms in a fast and freeing turn-based combat system where movement, attacks, and interruptions can all play out simultaneously.
Use stealth and clever gadgets to toy with your opponents. Split up your team to position them in real-time and set up devastating ambushes. Utilize a vast array of weapons and abilities to maintain the upper hand - from mainstays of the pirate arsenal to iconic Japanese weapons.
Craft your own items and experiment with different loadouts to survive deadly and diverse enemies.

For the first time ever in an Expeditions game, experience the tense combat and deeply branching narrative of Expeditions: Samurai in drop-in/drop-out co-op. Play in single-player as your own Captain Flynn, or invite your friend and play as a pair of twins.
In co-op, talking to characters at the same time lets you wrestle for control of important decisions or compete for a companion's affections. Coordinate sneak attacks or clever combat maneuvers; throw a distracting firecracker at just the right time to let your partner sneak past a sentry, or execute a flawlessly timed double stealth takedown.

I liked the game, and given the discounted price I really can't complain over the enjoyment vs cost ratio. The UI seems a bit clunky at the moment and I hope that it will get tightened up over successive releases. I had a few bugs along the way, but nothing that a quick-save/reload didn't solve. I've never been the biggest fan of stealth mechanics, and for me it was the biggest source of frustration in the game (mostly because on many occasions I sat frantically clicking on chests/doors to open them before a patrol spotted me, and the clicks didn't seem to register leaving me a sitting duck). A lot has been said about the graphics in this game. I have no real issue with the overall graphical portrayal of the world. However, I am much less keen on the 3D character representations seen during conversations (with most characters looking like some unholy lovechild of Frank Bruno and the robot from Futurerama). Given the overall look of the character models, perhaps it's a mercy that there doesn't seem to be any romance options in the game. Historical accuracy takes somewhat of a backseat, though in reality I know of few games where history isn't both interpreted and bastardised to fit modern sensibilities. So, if a faithful portrayal of feudal Japan is what you are looking for, this probably isn't going to satisfy you. I found the combat to be the strongest point of the game, and for the most part I found it a very enjoyable implementation of turn based combat with a lot of options for customising abilities (the notable exception being a particular combat/escort mission where much to my endless frustration, a certain character's idea of historical accuracy was to constantly charge off, careening headlong into enemies with kamikaze fanaticism). Overall, even in this 1st EA version, I am happy with the value I got out of the (discounted) game, and I look forward to the iterations up to full release.
Hodnocení 7/10, Curator
Expeditions: Samurai je povedeným základem dalšího dobrodružství, které má díky zasazení do Japonska roku 1600 rozhodně co nabídnout. Nejvíce zaujmou především taktické souboje, kombinace japonských a evropských zbraní a tradičně dobře pojaté propojení historie s alternativním vývojem událostí.
Havent really played much of it, waiting a bit, as a fan of rome, just wanted to support it
I was initially turned off by the art style, but it's grown on me. Apart from the main characters/companions, the female faces look a little strange, hopefully they improve the models there. Unlike Rome, anyone can use any weapon or armour, which is fun. It's a bit weird though that dual wielded weapons are combined instead of equipping two separate weapons. So you can't equip a specific one handed sword and mix and match it with daggers or pistols, you have a separate weapon type that is sword and pistol, or sword and dagger, or whatever. The controls and UI still need some work, especially on controller. The menu UI changes when the game detects controller input, but the controller menu UI is very annoying to use and buggy. The mouse and keyboard UI is fine, but I kept mixing up whether I needed to left or right click to do something. I can't remember exactly what Rome did there, but this felt very awkward. Story is enjoyable so far, but it's a bit strange that all these foreigners just suddenly can speak Japanese and it's just explained away as "Lucky that guy we met on the way taught us all how to speak Japanese!" It would have made more sense to have a period early on where we can't communicate properly until we get to Nagasaki where there would have been a lot of Christian converts who would have spoken Portuguese, and just explain it away as the crew being able to speak Spanish/Portuguese and being able to understand. After that, it's realistic for them to have learned the language from the two Japanese companions. Apart from that, I like the direction it's going in and all of the companions are interesting. Can't wait to play Act 2!
Expeditions: Samurai has a gorgeous art style and an awesome gameplay loop that kept me hooked the entire time. The mechanics feel great, combat is fun, and I really enjoyed building up my squad and exploring the world. Unfortunately, the current Early Access build is just way too short. There’s no crafting system yet, and there isn’t enough content to properly level up yourself or your companions before it’s suddenly over. I ran into a few bugs, but that’s completely expected in Early Access and none of them ruined the experience for me. What’s here is really damn good—there just needs to be a lot more of it. Expeditions: Samurai has a ton of potential, and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how it grows and will play each big update for sure!
Tengo un nivel de ingles medio, y como todos los Expeditions, tienen mucho texto, toma de decisiones, me es complicado entender de que va la trama. Esperare por una traducción.
Even in Early Access, Expeditions: Samurai shines. It's great to see Jonas' new studio, Campfire Cabal, continuing the series' legacy. The Japanese setting fits the tactical loop perfectly, and the writing is top-tier. Can't wait to see the full 1.0 release!
A good game but not close to being finished yet. Eventually it might get to become a great game if successful enough.
