Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Expeditions: Samurai is an expansive roleplaying game set in our world during real historical events, with an intricate, branching story and a vibrant cast of characters. At every turn, you will be faced with life-or-death choices that will challenge your resolve.
Create the character you want to be and choose your own path through history. Even the smallest of your decisions can have far-reaching consequences for yourself, your crew, and - in many cases - the people of Japan.

In the year 1600, the navigator William Adams arrived in Japan. He would soon become the first European granted the title of "Samurai".
In Expeditions: Samurai, William Adams never leaves England; you will beat Adams to the punch and sail to Japan aboard the Dutch frigate De Albatros.
You arrive in Japan as the newly elected leader of a motley crew of privateers and are quickly swept up in an ongoing civil war that is nearing its climax. Navigate the politics, intrigue, and drama of feudal Japan as you and your crew catch the attention of powerful warlords whose struggle will determine the future of the nation.

Every crewmate has their own story to uncover - if you manage to earn their trust. Build your relationship with each companion into a meaningful friendship, a lifelong rivalry, or possibly even a new love.

Outnumbered but never outgunned, engage your enemies on your own terms in a fast and freeing turn-based combat system where movement, attacks, and interruptions can all play out simultaneously.
Use stealth and clever gadgets to toy with your opponents. Split up your team to position them in real-time and set up devastating ambushes. Utilize a vast array of weapons and abilities to maintain the upper hand - from mainstays of the pirate arsenal to iconic Japanese weapons.
Craft your own items and experiment with different loadouts to survive deadly and diverse enemies.

For the first time ever in an Expeditions game, experience the tense combat and deeply branching narrative of Expeditions: Samurai in drop-in/drop-out co-op. Play in single-player as your own Captain Flynn, or invite your friend and play as a pair of twins.
In co-op, talking to characters at the same time lets you wrestle for control of important decisions or compete for a companion's affections. Coordinate sneak attacks or clever combat maneuvers; throw a distracting firecracker at just the right time to let your partner sneak past a sentry, or execute a flawlessly timed double stealth takedown.

4/10 Do not recommend currently. If you're looking for Expeditions Rome, this is not it. The only thing similar in this is the tile movement, turn based combat structure. 1. The art style is a significant downgrade from Rome. I understand there may be some people who enjoy the art style, but I very much do not. The character models are very blocky and don't really fit in with the art style either. It all seems to be an odd oil painting of Japan. 2. The story so far seems to be decent at best, the pacing seems slow but the characters in your party seem to have depth that hopefully will be expounded on in the later chapters of the game. The main questline is too short to say good or bad at this stage. 3. Character classes / skills / perks and leveling need serious reconsideration. The player character is the only character that can complete dialogue so if you focus too many skill points away from the 4-5 potential required skills for dialogue checks on your main character then you're screwed. I spent a lot of time trying to round out my group just for it to not matter at all during dialogue. At its current stage, if you can look past its predecessor and all of its awesomeness then maybe, and I mean MAYBE you can enjoy it. Considering the original creators sold this beloved franchise of mine to THQ Nordic, (I will never forgive them for that) I do not have high hopes for this to be anything more than an attempt to achieve the high bar that Rome set.

let it cook, it has the the potential to be a very great game from what i played, very glad we got somthing rather then nothing. (edit) i have encounterd a game breaking bug that forces me in combat and imediatly takes me out on loop saving and reloading does nothing reloading previous saves and progressing to the same point also does nothing -however im gonna let them cook and understand this early access is pre much a qa test...
The game opens on a ship sailing to Japan. The crew decides to stage a mutiny because the captain is hoarding water. And this happens while it's pouring rain. By that point I had no expectations that this will be a serious game or even reasonably historically accurate. Once you get past that the content was a lot of fun. Stealth mechanics still have some issues.
The cartoonish style is horrible. I am not a child playing some anime game. I'd rather have Expeditions Rome 2, than this.
Clear downgrade from the previous game. Not to mention the graphics but the story is just bad: it's too dull and stereotypical to be engaiged in.
The game’s biggest problem is its terrible UI, which constantly gets in the way of actually playing. It’s slow, cluttered, unintuitive, and makes even basic actions feel like a chore. Information is scattered across awkward menus, important details are hard to access, and the interface feels like a massive step backwards from previous Expeditions titles. The UI doesn’t just annoy — it actively sabotages the gameplay loop. On top of that, the game leans heavily into stealth, which is simply not what I want from this series. I came for an RPG‑heavy, turn‑based X‑COM experience where stealth might be a minor tactical option, not the main gameplay pillar. Even if I were interested in stealth, the implementation is clunky and inconsistent. But the real issue is that I don’t want a stealth game here at all, and the UI makes the forced stealth even more frustrating. Story and dialogue are mediocre and rarely engaging. Under better gameplay conditions, they might have been acceptable, but they can’t compensate for the structural weaknesses. Graphics are fine — not impressive, not bad — and the ahistorical representation choices don’t bother me. In the end, Expeditions: Samurai is defined by a UI that feels like an obstacle course and a design shift toward stealth that breaks with the identity of the series. I will come back (and even pay a higher price) if they fix the major issues till full release because i really like the series and see also a lot of potential in the current setting.

As of right now i do enjoy this game it is very comparable to BG3 and i love the choices. That being said its my first expeditions game.
Needs more Cleopatra
Huge congratulations to the team on an excellent game. As a longtime fan of the series, I was thrilled to see this title announced, and the open-access build left me wanting more. The combat is the biggest strength: polished, strategic, and highly varied, with great weapon options, diverse maps, meaningful terrain, and optional objectives that encourage replayability. My main suggestions are around presentation and tone. I strongly preferred Rome’s hand-drawn character portraits, which gave characters more personality than the current avatars. I also think character introductions could be more gradual, allowing players more time to connect with each character. Finally, a darker and grittier tone in the dialogue and voice acting would better suit the setting. Overall, these are minor criticisms of an otherwise fantastic experience. The team has built an incredibly strong product, and the passion and craftsmanship really show. Congratulations—you should be very proud of what you’ve created!
