Just completed my first game of this and it was so enjoyable. The combat system is very easy to learn but allows for so many options on how to complete a battle. Your choices have actual impact in the story, how events develop and whether sections will be easier or harder further down the road. The combat is hex based and very enjoyable. I would highly recommend getting this if you are interested in the time period, enjoy throwing Greek fire at people, and fight for the glory of Rome.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Excellent.
Feels like an amalgamation of numerous games that I have played and loved my entire life. Honestly such a fun game so far.
Get this game if you like rome, a story, adventure and commanding armies. Was very fun to play, played it without DLC on hard difficulty, Going to replay with Insane with ironman mode and DLC, Every choice you make matters, the game potrays what your choices has lead to towards the end.
I started on "hard" and the game seemed a bit hard at the start. I had to do some research on the internet to read up on the different mechanics and after a while i got the hang of it, but not to the point where it is easy. All in all, i absolutely recommend the game. I am 42h in and i have not finished the game yet. The story is nice and the game play is great too.
good
One of the best Turn Based RPG game. Realistic story, epic combat, memorable siege battles, cinematic like soundtrack, and a lot of politics, decision.
A splendid blend of a late-republic roman setting and a isometric-style tactical combat cRPG. While the historical accuracy isn't perfect (particularily due to a spesific dilemma in the middle of act III), it pushes the authenticity of the setting incredibly far. I really respect that they go above and beyond; for instance small things like common roman terms seemingly being pronounced in classical latin instead of in ecclesiastical latin as is done today. The tactical combat is solid, it's not groundbreaking, but it delivers interesting challenge with different tools to approach them with. The strategic combat is remarkably unremarkable systems wise, but it has nice flavour and does occupy a very tiny chunk of the game's playtime. It delivers on the parts it needs to deliver on in a spectacular fashion. It does very noticabely cut a lot of corners, but those corners are mostly in the right places to least detract from the overall experience. The corners cut serve a purpose in delivering a very ambitious and sizeable game.
Pros: Fun game. The fights are enjoyable. Your decisions matter, and the story is interesting. Cons: Character customization is pretty basic. The text encounters can get annoying. Overall, it’s worth getting.
