Хорошая графика, но очень короткая прошёл до первой концовки буквально за час. Хотелось бы подольше, буду ждать обновлений.
Amaze! Amaze! Amaze!
EXPEDITION TO THE BACKROOMS is a first-person horror adventure developed and published by 1_Cutter_1 that embraces the unsettling mystery of the Backrooms while attempting to carve out its own identity. Instead of emphasizing nonstop scares, the game leans into suspense, exploration, and the feeling of venturing into an impossible world where reality no longer follows familiar rules. Players take on the role of an expedition member working for the PhaseSync organization, entering strange dimensions to uncover secrets, document anomalies, and survive encounters with unknown entities. The narrative premise provides enough context to justify the journey while allowing environmental storytelling to remain the primary method of revealing the world's mysteries. The game's strongest feature is its commitment to atmosphere. Every environment is crafted to evoke loneliness and uncertainty, from endless office corridors to abandoned facilities and surreal locations that seem disconnected from the normal world. Rather than relying on a single visual theme, the adventure introduces multiple areas with distinct appearances and moods, preventing exploration from becoming repetitive. The oversized architecture, eerie lighting, and unsettling silence work together to create the sensation that players have wandered into places never meant to be discovered. Small environmental details and remnants left behind by previous explorers help reinforce the illusion of a living mystery that extends beyond the player's immediate objectives. Exploration is the heart of the experience, rewarding curiosity with new locations, hidden details, and fragments of lore scattered throughout the environment. The Backrooms are far from empty, however, as numerous hostile entities inhabit these forgotten spaces. Each creature behaves differently, encouraging players to pay attention instead of relying on a single strategy for every encounter. Some enemies react to movement or sound, while others present unique threats that force players to adapt as they venture deeper into the unknown. This variety helps maintain tension throughout the expedition, ensuring that every new area carries a genuine sense of uncertainty. The audiovisual presentation complements the gameplay exceptionally well. Detailed environments, realistic lighting, and carefully placed shadows create a convincing sense of realism before twisting it into something unsettling. Equally important is the sound design, which uses distant echoes, mechanical noises, ambient hums, and prolonged silence to keep players constantly on edge. The absence of constant musical accompaniment often makes the experience even more unnerving, allowing every unfamiliar noise to feel significant. The game demonstrates a solid understanding that psychological horror is often more effective when it relies on anticipation rather than excessive jump scares. Another welcome feature is the inclusion of cooperative multiplayer, allowing friends to explore the mysterious labyrinth together. Sharing discoveries, communicating during dangerous encounters, and working as a team naturally changes the pacing without diminishing the horror. Cooperative play adds replay value while making the expedition feel more dynamic, especially when players divide responsibilities or become separated inside the maze. Whether played alone or with others, the game's emphasis remains on careful observation, exploration, and surviving the unknown rather than combat-heavy action. As an Early Access title, EXPEDITION TO THE BACKROOMS already presents a promising foundation while leaving room for meaningful expansion. The current experience demonstrates clear ambition through its large environments, immersive atmosphere, varied enemy encounters, and intriguing setting. Although additional content, gameplay refinements, and further polishing will strengthen the final product, the existing package successfully captures the unsettling appeal that has made the Backrooms concept so compelling. Fans of atmospheric horror, slow-paced exploration, and mysterious environments will likely appreciate what the game currently offers, while those seeking a more action-oriented horror experience may find its deliberate pacing less exciting. Even so, its dedication to immersion and environmental storytelling makes it a memorable expedition into one of gaming's most recognizable modern horror concepts. Rating: 6/10
this game is verry buggy and has a LOT of problems!, however this is probably the coolest backrooms game ive ever played the concepts levels and even the endings are phenomenal, it doesnt cost a huge amount and i think even though it has bugs and issues, you should buy it anyways and support the creator and their Vision.
the game completely froze on me i had to force my computer to shut down that is not good. te game seems like its great fun please fix the game
This game has some cool ideas when it works, bought it because I enjoy these games. My experience has been very frustrating. There are no ways to rebind controls, no brightness/gamma settings, you can clip through parts of the forest fences and can't get out. (Edit: As my understanding of the forest level has changed, I will be leaving up this part of the review as it is still an issue to me and once it gets fixed and implemented, my opinion may change.) I really want to like this game, but right now I would say wait until the game is fully set because you may have a frustrating time and it will ruin the game for you. I hope that this game grows into something great because you can see the potential in the game. Edit: After the dev explained the forest area and how I misunderstood the mechanic, I will be removing that part of the review as it was a fundamental misunderstanding on my part.
