Played on the early access release date with a few friends, at this point there's the one level out but we had several hours of fun playing through it! Plays as a group survival puzzler, but can tell there's been a lot of forethought and mindfulness put into the world you play in. As far as quality goes, we encountered maybe one or two glitches while playing and they were entirely inconsequential. Loved the art style and the monster actually moves fairly naturally, something which other games fail at and can take you out of the immersion quite a bit (like how clunky Phas ghosts move). As far as early access goes, very well built. There's a bit of lore to start to uncover and even some fun collectibles to hunt down. I appreciated how the puzzles were also interconnected to a degree which drove us to continue visiting every part of the map multiple times instead of just finishing with an area and moving on. There's even a little surprise at the end if you complete it that I'm sure won't be there forever! Fun little early access easter egg. I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for future updates!
All in all, its a good pick-up, I'd say its worth the money. I'm definitely looking forward to more updates!
If you enjoy puzzle games this is definitely something for you and a few friends to play. I really enjoyed this game a lot, I would say a solid 8.5/10 I played with 1 other friend and it was definitely a fun game, I'm actually excited to play the new maps. Like I said, for puzzle solving lovers, definitely worth playing. :)
Alkurai has an interesting questing system while roaming the first maps maze. Around every corner my buddy and I either got lost or found another quest to finish, but at a certain point we got the idea of what we were supposed todo. The monster that roams the first map being the maze didn't find us until we were at the last quest and it started to get more aggressive, so there weren't many jumpscares until that time. We ran into a glitch that was connected with the games mechanic of a dropped item that wasn't in the place it spawns where if the item isn't being held it'll respawn where you found it before. While this can be fun, we ran into the issue that the last heart we needed to burn "respawned" in its found place, but it wasn't there. So the final 30 or so minutes was us running around trying to find it, which was a bit annoying. But in the end Alkurai has an interesting story behind it and some fun cutscenes to watch. And the end of chapter one already shows what's to come for Chapter 2, so my buddy and I can't wait to play this again for the new chapters to come!
Played with 3 players was very fun only thing that was a little bit annoying was her camping the swamp but not much of an issue if you just kinda get good lol. overall really fun liked the map and textures used sound was okay and the story isn't bad, def fun to play with friends -love the random spawned mushrooms :)
REVIEW: Pros: - Game is fun with friends - Nice puzzles - Monster lady is crazy Cons: - A Few bugs... (5/4 Hearts burned) Can't complete the game... Very weird one. - She got stuck in a loop a lot too - No Inversion Controls
*Positive Review Im putting this game as positive but it is extremely short, The first chapter took me about an hour, and the second chapter took me about 15-20 mins. and the third and final chapter isnt out yet. The game works good from a functional stand point, Its definitely not a bad game, I think im just having a hard time recommending it when I think about games like labyrinthine and inside the backrooms being IMO way way better. I think if you've already played those games its not bad for 7 bucks.
Really enjoyed the game. There were a few bugs in the game no big deal. I didn't think we would finish on first try so that was nice. Definitely going to make a vid out of this
i GOT EATEN!
Had a great time playing this game with my friend. Loved the characters we met through the maze and finding objects was fun. We did however encounter a bug that allowed us to spawn unlimited amounts of hearts to burn at the fire, making the game rather easy to finish so please beware that you're purchasing an unfinished product with quite a few bugs. EDIT after having played chap 2: The second chapter is fun at first as well but I do much prefer the first one after having played through both. The mechanics get a lot simpler in the second chapter so once you figure them out it's an easy clear and the threat pretty much ceases to exist.
