About
Customize your creatures using a unique state machine system. After every battle, you can add new actions to the state machine or enhance existing actions and their stats to refine your strategy.
Every enemy you encounter was created by another player. When a creature is defeated, it remains in the ocean and becomes an opponent for other players, including yourself! This creates an ever-expanding roster of unique enemies and a dynamic meta that evolves over time.
Track how your creations perform even after your run ends. In the depth overview, you can watch how they are performing. Build something powerful enough, and your creature might even become an elite enemy for other players to face!

Create and evolve creatures with near-limitless possibilities. The game currently includes:
8 unique creatures to pick from
40 different actions that can be used by a creature
27 different modules and modifiers to further modify actions
48 different cores that provide the creature with unique special abilities
8 different items that can appear as battle rewards

More creatures, actions, modules, modifiers, cores and rewards will be added with every major update!
This results in millions of different ways to play the game!

Very creative game, that allows you to make a bunch of different builds. The learning curve is not bad and is a lot of fun as you climb up and learn all the interactions of your abilities, modifies and more. The Dev also responded to a bug report I had submitted and was able to respond and FIX the bug within 24 hours. So bonus points there for me. If you enjoy rougeish like run mechanics with an auto battle theme this game won't disappoint.
Evolve Lab is a brilliant roguelike auto-battler where your opponents are created by real players. Every match is different, and every decision matters. Deep-sea creatures, endless combos, and clever strategies – a must-play for all tactics fans!
amazing game, top tier. should be pumped full of money to slam more content. this game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ winner through and through
*girlfriend in the kitchen* "Dinner's ready!" *me playing this game * "Okay be there in one second!" *5 hours later* My eyes hurt because i haven't been blinking enough and my tummy is yelling at me for not going to eat dinner. 10/10 recommend
Playable already with little in the way of noticeable bugs and plenty of content for most players. Some notes: * Screenshots are out of date on the store page, there's more content available than they imply. There's currently 4 planets worth of expanding content, and there have been some interface changes for the better. * Active playerbase is somewhat limited at the moment going by the leaderboards and by the developer recently mentioning "over 1000 players" in an update post. Its an issue that any paid indie game is going to have with multiplayer. That said, it took me around 35 hours of playtime to get to the point where I've been competitive on each planet's ladder, and I'm a longtime veteran of games like this, so that's entirely reasonable to me for the asking price even if the game fails in its future roadmap. * While there are tooltips and a decent effort towards clarity, some mechanics are best learned via trial and error in the current build. Its not always evident how a complex interaction of actions and modifiers will interact! I'm colorblind, so its also visually confusing when the various syringe icons and their icons once bought are identical, outside of colors that I can't see the difference between as a Red-Green colorblind player. This results in a fair amount of highlighting items that I'd prefer not to have to highlight, but since there are no timers as an Async game, this is manageable. * There is metaprogression in the form of buying access to the more complex metagames and buying characters. It was a short process for me, but a less skilled player might need potentially 5 or even 10 hours to unlock it all in their preferred mode of play (online or private, offline). Supposedly this will be changed to be shorter soon. Potential balance issues between the characters aside, this is all horizontal progression - you're not going to lose noticeably more for lacking the unlocks, and any character can do well. * While a run is considered a "win" after surviving through Depth 12, a lot of the appeal is in going as deep as possible. And unfortunately, between a light playerbase (not F2P+indie) and the general difficulty in balancing a game as wide/deep as this is, I wouldn't expect endgame balance to be in a great place for awhile. It tends to become a matchup fishing game as various "Exodia" style builds try to avoid their counters.
This is the most fun auto battler that I have ever experienced. At the start of the game there are two sea creatures to choose from, and there are up to eight creatures and four planets to unlock. Each fight is against another player's monster that previously cleared that floor, and as you progress the monsters get harder and harder. Despite having such a wide variety of creatures to choose from, the game is so well balanced that it's possible to get to the darkest depth with any creature. The meta is ever evolving, the community is amazing, and the developers are active and friendly. I am writing this review because I hope more people recognize this game so everyone can enjoy it. I am also currently the final raid boss of planet's one, two, and three. Can anyone defeat my creature from the darkest depths?
This game is great and it's so fun to watch your build come alive and see how it holds up to the other builds. There's a ton of variety and crazy build possibilities too already, which will only get better and better once more stuff is added. This deserves a lot of attention
I've spent way too much time playing this game. - interesting state machine mechanic. Each creature has a series of States that they execute over and over again throughout each fight. As you advance deeper into the planet's ocean and evolve your creature, you add augmentable abilities to these States as well as modify your creature directly with increased stats and Cores. - So many creature builds to make and encounter! - Seriously, there are LOTS of ways to modify your creatures. I can't emphasize this enough! - Losing doesn't feel too bad because you can quickly start another run. And your creature does not go silently. No, it remains at the depth it lost at for the rest of the month, allowing other players to experience your PURE GENIUS and receive COMPLETELY UNFAIR defeat just like your creature did. - If you make it to the deepest depth, players will be FORCED to face your creation to advance (at least until your creature defeats a contender or two, allowing players to advance by COWARDLY defeating a creature your creature defeated). - The game starts you out on a planet with a limited ability pool to warm you up and allows you to unlock planets with more creature types and abilities as you keep playing. - there's a planet whose pool of things you can evolve your creatures with changes each month. You can go here whenever you think you have the metas of the other planets figured out. - I keep talking about your "creature" (singular), but on most planets, you advance with a TEAM of creatures, picking which creature fights which battles to minimize the adverse effects of RNG. This, combined with the plethora of modifications you can make to your creatures leads to lots of strategic decision making and creative freedom. Finally, the game's cheap. GET IT ALREADY!
Its fun to program the different behaviors of your critters. And the gameplay loop is fast enough that failures don't feel like a time waste. Having multiple animals on your team allows for some interesting meta strategy as well.
Very, very cool game. Easy and understandable to get started with, and addictive after just the first minute! It motivates you to try out new tactics and, thanks to the many individual creatures that each player can create, opens up almost endless possibilities without becoming repetitive. Highly recommended.!!
