Cannot reccommend with bugs with E key in first 20 minutes. Not waiting, refunded. Basics should not be bugged. Shouldnt even be in early access if theres such simple problems.
Could be cool but it's a mess of bad balance and worse building mechanics. Needs loads and loads of work before its worth the price they are asking. Thanks for the response Parim, To be more specific, after finishing the boat and having the world begin to open up, I had trouble feeling like I was making meaningful progress. I needed more copper to continue repairing my gear, but was unable to find any, so I started to run out of arrows and repair kits, which forced me to just start using weapons I could find laying around until they broke. Also when building the ship, I was unable to rotate the cube shaped blocks. This doesn't change anything gameplay-wise, but it makes the boat look weird when I have no control over the orientation of the blocks, they just point in random directions and it made the building aspect of the game less enjoyable for me. The wraith enemies also seem broken. I know they can go invisible, which is a good and cool mechanic, but sometimes it feels like they stay invisible forever or maybe they clip into the ground after a bit? Not sure exactly what happens, but I will fight several off and continue getting bombarded by their little summons, which are strong enough to nearly 1 shot me if I can't find them in time, which happens quite often as they can clip through terrain from below it seems.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Updated Review #2 - The Ascent Update: Still crashing on both DX11 and DX12 - Radio silence from Dev on Discord still. Islands seem to be closer together, that's a plus. It also means you can see more islands at once. Lots of new "stuff", but the core loop seems mostly unchanged. Tho not getting to a lot of it due to crashes. The good: Melee combat is generally pretty good for this kind of game. Your base following you is nice, though with the free teleporting, it doesn't necessarily need to. The bad: 13+ Crashes in 3 days. I play a LOT of early access games but this is excessive. Dev replied to my review, but i'd already posted my issue on discord which was ignored. There is little 'direction' on what you should be doing or looking for, which is not necessarily bad but... Islands are extremely repetitive and small. Islands are somewhat far apart, so you spend a lot of time flying between them, which gets old fast. Economy is poorly balanced, can easily get tons of money once you find a village. All altitude upgrades require basic skulls... only found in beginning islands. So at higher levels it will take you hours of grinding to get them. Mindlessly finding low level islands and monsters to kill. Melee/bow is fine, but wand/magic is hard to find and not well designed (ie: recharging) Locked chests/keys/lockpicks are an annoying system for loot that is the same as normal chests. Recipes are hard to find something specific, with most being low level useless stuff you've already long passed in level. No pause in single player. This is an extremely basic QoL feature. Skill unlocks need a review. Not a fan of certain armors and weapons being locked behind a skill point. I could probably go on. There is a lot of 'bad' but its mostly things that can be potentially fixed in Early Access. I'd personally say fine tuning progression and island content should be the priority (IE: main gameplay loop). There's a big update very soon... So I'll pop in after that and update the review after.
Interaction with villagers is extremely shallow, there’s no main quest, and the game lacks creativity and replay value. It’s totally overpriced for what it offers. If you’re looking for an adventure, crafting, monster-slashing, gear-upgrading game, I strongly advise against buying this. I ran out of new content in less than 20 hours—its lifespan is painfully short. You’re better off playing Minecraft with mods instead.
Sadly, in it's current state, I cannot recommend the game. Have played over 100 hours and have run into a cap of level 40 and due to certain items not being available in current version we cannot upgrade our ship to go any higher. A required skull says it is not available in the EA version. I see reviews and hints online reflecting that others are able to achieve results that we cannot. The game has great potential ! It needs some story line to it and Quests. As it is now it is a lot of grinding to get resources and to upgrade weapons and armor but that is about it. A ton of islands to visit but they are very repetitive. Wish I had held off and bought it at a future date when it was complete.
Kinda addicting game! having alota fun exploring and dungeon diving though it still has some rough edges. They need to do something about the periodic random hitching/pausing in the game. And I would love if they can increase the resolution and variation of the blocks for crafting.
