Diablo meets Freespace with pretty good writing and mostly likable characters. Combat is fun enough to push the game forward, tons of content to plow through, highly recommend.
I'd love to have an X4 with combat and graphics like Everspace. What I mean is that Everspace is just a looter shooter, or even a dungeon crawler, with poor ship customization (other games like Bordersland, Warframe, and even PoE2 and Diablo) done in a similar way to Destiny 2 (the same weapons with different colors and higher stats). i have more fun with customizing my ship in space rangers. Besides that, Everspace looks fantastic, but it lacks depth. It has a lot of mechanics that pretend to be deep, but instead boil down to "give 30 of this, 1500 of that, and 80 of this for a +1 stat/item level..." done with many aspects and a lot of materials, creating the illusion of something complex. Mining is fun for a while, but when you have to do it for materials, because it would be stupid to lack for "+1", it quickly becomes more tedious (EVE and X4 have mining sites, but those are space sims where mining is more interesting, although less visually appealing). So Everspace 2 is a space looter shooter, similar to Total War or Heroes of Might and Magic, popular and an 8/10 because there's nothing else in the genre well known (well, Heroes of Might and Magic has competition now and i have bad news for era one). If you're young and new to space games like shooters, give it a try. I don't know how long you can complete the same mission with a little spice, pressing F to start hacking a terminal or destroying orange parts of a base. Maybe you like puzzles. Yes, this one has better puzzles than X4 because they work and aren't frustrating (mostly). But Everspace is like Destiny 2; it offers one thing at a high level, completely ignoring everything else you'll find in the competition. There's nothing to do in this game other than shoot. Don't lie to yourself. But if you have the time, desire, and a bit of determination, I recommend x4, Elite Dengerous, Starsector, Starpoint Gemini... the only thing Everspace is better, is the look; this game looks the best. But it's like Destiny 2 vs. Warframe or Bordersland. You play because you haven't tried better games. So 20h funn, not bad if you by in 80% sell.
Amazing space game. You are always in your ship, but they make it move as smoothly as any FPS. The feeling of being in control and the agility of movement make it a pleasure to fly. I really can't recommend this enough, even if you aren't into spaceship games. It really is unique.
Enjoying the story and the build up of my character. Lots of ways to skill up. Ships, gear, experience levels, perks. It's fun to gear up to try a strategy and rewarding when it pays off. Feels like I am only near the beginning of the game and already 44 hours. Universe seems very big.
Pues está muy guapo el juego en cámara de cockpit con track ir y es una pasada, lo estoy disfrutando un montón. El tema loot, combate y misiones muy currando y entretenido y visualmente muy resultón. Good job Rockfish Games!
