a solid soft sci-fi space flight sim. looking forward to the next installment.
This EverSpace is SO MUCH MORE then it's Predessors, Almost an Entirely Different Game! (It basically has the freedom and quest like/of Starfield or Mass Effect Andromeda) Pro - The Atmosphere, Story, Music, voice acting and Mechanics are A++ Con - IDK if I like it being Part Anime(People in Cutscenes are only thing Anime) or Not. (Even though actual animation is great.) I will be getting ALL of the DLC asap.
I was surprised how good this game was. A blast to play. It's a diablo-like ARPG in space Good story Great music and sounds (electronic style) Great graphics (simple but beautiful). Budget cutscenes. Great voice acting. Satisfying game loop: do missions>level up>get better loot>get better ship>level up... Side missions are really interesting, jobs are infinite and repetitive, random encounters also repetitive. There are hidden containers everywhere and puzzles to solve. I played on mouse+kb and can't imagine playing on a controller. You have to aim a reticle while flying in a different direction plus constant inventory management. ***I finished the campaign at level 27 after about 60h. BUT there is whole lot more in the endgame. Max lvl 30, ton of builds to try, legendary equipment to farm, solving puzzles, rifts and much more. A lot of grind. I was just too emotionally tired to continue. Enough is enough:)
Really good fluid mechanics and controls. I enjoyed most of the puzzles but there were a few that got tedious. The difficulty curve on this felt like it was best balanced for the mid game. At the end I was running through groups of enemies like an anime swordsman. No idea if the DLCs change that
It's fun and exciting until you get the best of everything before finishing the game. Then it gets boring and you stop playing.
