For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I kept it on the backlog for way too long. Tried playing it a couple of times. I think I saw a part of a playthrough on YouTube at some point and it looked interesting... perhaps it was the first *Everspace* game?... Either way - after a few attempts I finally had to come to terms with a simple truth: I did not enjoy the gameplay, did not care for the story and did not appreciate the art style of cinematics. There simply was nothing for me in this game. I don't think it's a bad title. It is polished, complete, even won some awards. It's just not my kind of jam and with thousands of other titles I could be playing, I sometimes just need to let go.
Everspace 2 has pretty good writing and voice acting, and the gameplay is actually pretty solid. I don't care much about visuals but those were pretty decent too. For the most part, the moment-to-moment feels a lot like a modernized version of Freelancer, which is exactly what I was hoping for. My gripe with the game is almost entirely with the progression systems. The original Everspace had a couple of them but nothing too crazy, but in Everspace 2 they've multiplied like the cells of a malignant tumor, with about the same results for the health of their host. Your character levels up which comes with several different benefits, you can buy new ships with tiers and slightly randomized stats, your weapons have a level, rarity, slots for improvements called catalysts, variant types, and random modifiers. I think the idea of all of this is to give you lots of moments to feel excited about incremental improvements, but instead the system introduces unnecessary grind and RNG which aren't particularly fun, interesting, or even challenging to engage with but which are required to prevent your power level falling behind the enemies. Throughout the story campaign (which I was I think about halfway through when I gave up after TWENTY-SEVEN HOURS) the power level of enemies increases with only marginal increases to their complexity, so you never really feel like you're actually growing, just on an endless treadmill. The only exception is facing non-quest enemies in areas you've outgrown, where killing enemies just feels like pointless busywork. Overall, it just feels like a depressing amount of wasted potential. There was the skeleton of a good game, both in terms of building on ES1's mostly solid formula and making a few genuine if small improvements, but it's just so weighed down with grindy, random progression systems, content and systems bloat, poorly-fitted power growth, and general feeling that my time is not being respected. And the most tragic part is that pretty much all you would have had to do to get a great game is take what they already made and subtract. Its design wasn't lazy, or shoddy, or missing critical features that would take dev resources to fill in, it was just burdened down with nonsense that didn't need to be there and got in the way of the simple joy of flying around in a spaceship shooting things.
So much better than the first game. If you hated the first one, give this one a shot. Much more arcadey and no roguelike nonsense.
The core gameplay is nice but repetetive; the space combat feels good. The story is a bit boring, it is more like a visual novel. You can't make decisions or influence your character's decisions in any way. Would not buy at full price.
