This exceeded my expectations. It's like Ace Combat and Colony Wars, along with some RPG looter elements like Diablo. The game is pretty good across the board, including graphics and story. There's a bit of an end game if you want to grind legendary items (that have cool, unique effects). One thing that was a pleasant surprise was the environmental puzzles. It's pretty neat to fly into a planet via mine shafts and activate power systems, or fly into derelict spaceships orbiting a planet and other such things. This could be one to leave installed for some, and return to do just a little bit more here and there. Or just go ham and put 50-100 hours into it.
Everspace 1 >>>>>> Everspace 2 The sound, combat, graphics, etc., are fine, but the progress is mediocre. I play the whole game as a scout ship and I feel a lack of strength even if I get some upgrades, my enemies are still stronger. I got a legendary weapon at level 16, but it doesn't matter, because later the opponents are level 20+ and the weapon starts to be average, and if you want to upgrade it, good luck and have fun. Upgrading the ship is mandatory, but you still feel like you're paper. I'm at the end of the game (Adam's Run) at level 21 where enemies have 26+ each. I understand that someone will say that you can do side content, but in my opinion, this is not how going through a pure campaign should look like. So I was forced to do side missions and I did them, which I wasn't happy with, although it didn't matter much because soon after a while there was a big limit in levels again. And if I was supposed to play with a different type of ship because this one is weak, then for me it is a problem of the game, not the player. Overall: In this game, you lack the feeling of being stronger and stronger, as it was in the first part I regret buying it but will try to finish it.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It gets repetitive really fast.
It's not that deep. Want a fun game where you fly a spaceship and engage in spaceship battles? Then this is a solid option.
I ended up uninstalling it after making it around half way through the 2nd system you can access Pros: - Game runs great at max settings. There were a few dips here and there with screenwide or close up explosions though. - Moving around actually feels pretty solid. I played on mouse and keyboard and it worked like a charm. Cons: -Dialogue needs some work. It feels way too safe and dry. - I hate only having access to one primary weapon at a time. If i have a massive heavy ship with +3 primary weapons, i want to unload EVERYTHING at once instead of having to swap to a new weapon each time. Its a weird mechanic i dont follow with. - Some missions are just overly tedious for no reason and provide essentially no reward other than a few thousand credits and a minimal amount of XP. - Overall it didnt feel rewarding to play and i really wanted to get something that made me stay. Glad i got this on a sale, but ill never touch it again.
My review is so long that I have to link it externally. I've spent over a year writing it, refining it, and researching for it. I put the finishing touches on it right before I typed out this blurb. I believe this may be the longest review ever created for this game. The thumbs down rating is because there's no "maybe" rating, and this will hopefully be justified once you finish reading my review, if you finish reading it. I'll understand if it's too long for some people to sit through, but I really hope people read through this as this is my first game review ever, and it was one of the biggest projects I've ever taken on. https://gist.github.com/SlyCooperReloadCoded/46299cc23dfadd2fde396c4e97a48480
